Title: Atomic Cafe Question
Post by: Argonor on December 04, 2009, 10:03:02 AM
I'm a bit out of the loop at the moment, but are any rules available for AC, yet? (I just had a quick look at Brigade Games' site and could not find them)

Is this the right section for this?

You have to go to the webstore and then you can find Atomic Cafe in the Popup-Menue...

Ah, yes, it is there.. I simply missed it the last time scrolling down. I Expected the rules to be at the top or bottom of the page....

Thanks.

I nicked these over at frothers, stuff in the pipe for Atomic Cafe, by the right honourable Paul Hicks or so I believe:

and, above all, this ahunkahunkaburnin'love:

I need more miniatures like a need a hole in my head but this one I am going to get no matter what.

I bought the Roller Girls and the Buddy Holly fig at Fall In, but I NEED that Elvis. Fantastic mini.

Had a look though the rulebook that weekend too. Was going to play in a demo game, but got distracted in the flea market... Nice looking game, lots of character.

That Elvis mini is pure GENIUS!

I have no idea how I can shoe-horn it into the games I do, but I'll find a way! It's brilliant! Makes me think of the TV comeback special, when he does some 'karate' in the middle of one of the songs.

Genius!

Yeah, they're there on Brigade, about halfway down the Atomic Cafe page.  $20 for the pre-release copy, and they promise to update what it's missing (two pics and one scenario, I think).  Just ordered it today.

Definitely available. A member of the group has the rules and has been playing around with them, and several of the figs. Overall, looks to be a very playable system, with a few "hiccups", but nothing too serious, at least according to him.

Has to be one of the quietest releases ever, though. Big ramp up earlier in the year and then virtually... nothing after the debut at Fall In. The new sculpts are nice.

Yep, I found it, thanks.

I expected the rules to be at the top or the bottom of the page, so I did not pay enough attention when scrolling down.

Probably something I'll buy, if/when my life again permits me time for other than work, kids, garden, domestic chores, etc....

Problem was, I did not make Fall In. So, no big pre- and post game announcements. Lon's marketing usually consists of posting the new releases to the usual sites. I am of the "shout it from the mountain tops" type. :)

Expect to see some more posting on the game as I get ready for Cold Wars in March and maybe even some games in February.

Is the Elvis figure wearing his army uniform?

Same here - I generally expect the rulebook to be the very first item listed.  I just happened to be flipping through the minis to see what they had when "Oh, there it is."

I don't think it is quite his army uniform. Though, it could be painted to look like it.

It's actually on the Brigade Games site. I only do the writing for it (and the layout and coordinate all the releases and give ideas, etc.) Lon gets the money for it.  :D

Any news on a release date for the bound rulebook (not the pre-release)?

The bound rulebook is currently available.

The website still says:

"Atomic Cafe 1957 Rules, Limited release version with coil binding. This is a pre-perfect binding release."

Is that not the case?

The only difference is two pictures and one scenario.  To quote Lon:

"The rules have been released as previously stated. However, this is a limited run that is coil bound, has 2 missing pictures (because the minis were late through the molding phase and are being painted now) and there is one scenario that will be emailed and not in this version. I am also thinking that I will be printing up these pages separately for those who have bought this version of the book should they want them. Other than that it is the same as the perfect bound book that will be going to print shortly."
