Albuera is a popular battle for wargamers to refight. It gave us a proper see-saw game. Here's the photo-AAR:

Very nice! Saves me from writing an Albuera scenario myself. lol Agree with the ratings. Colborne was briefly a captive. Spanish cavalry made an unsuccessful counterattack and he escaped during the confusion. Don't think the Brits need a general. The critical move sending Cole's division in was done by the chief of staff, not Beresford, who seemed confused.
Worthy of note, Colborne made a similar flanking move with his right unguarded at Waterloo. No French cavalry hit his open flank. Instead, he flanked the Imperial Guard and pulverized them.
Looking forward to the scenario book going on sale. My Dutch-Belgians will have to pretend to be Portuguese. We have genuine Spanish troops.

I suppose Colborne may have learned a lot in four years.
Indeed, Beresford doesn't figure on-table in Mark's scenario either. The only General the Allies get is Zayas, whereas the French have half a dozen.
