Historically border line for this group or the ancient one I guess, bare with if so happy to move it.
I am re-visiting an old project with a bunch of Arthurian figures and then investing in a bunch more, thought it might be nice to share with the forum. Photos here;

Sacrilege! As far as Sub Roman/Post Roman wargaming there is no getting carries away! lol

Lovely paintwork
-
Yes very nice!
-
Thanks very much guys.
-
Nice subdued palette on these. Your already finished opposing forces on your blog look fantastic.
-
Very nice, I really like the look of these, both the painting and the figures. They have the look of resigned service!
-
Thanks very much. A subdued pallette is exactly what I planned, the Pallette will change slightly with each group to add more variety into finished products but dont expect much in the way of bright reds and sky blues.
Resigned service is a phrase that captures these very well. I am adding Crusader figures to them that have the same feel.
More soon.

Yes, i agree, vegetable based dyes are not going to get the vivid colours of modern aniline dyes. They could get some interesting colours f’sure but always a bit more broken, especially if dirty and weathered from time in the field.

Lovely group! Those natural looking colors are just perfect. ;D Who makes the leader pointing the sword?
-
Those are very nice figures.... that tawny coloured cloak is going to be appearing on odd figures in my future armies, its a great colour

These are great, aren’t they? Top painting by Roger. I can help with the sword pointing mini (in the green robe), it’s a Gripping Beast Irish command figure now sold as a curaidh in their Saga range.

Top work Roger 8)

Thanks very much guys, as James says, Gripping Beast Irish command figure in green. More of these to share before I get distracted by something new.

A break in painting for other periods and a planned Midgard Arthurian game on the horizon so I am back to Arthurians, mainly Picts and Romano British, images on the blog here;
