My Google fu has failed.
I'm trying to track down a series of figure conversions of characters from Platoon that were posted, here I think, some years back.
They were 28mm hard plastic and used stuff frommWW2 American ranges and other stuff to make it happen
I'm not having any luck. Does anyone remember them know if they were posted on a blog or website?
Many thanks in advance.

Only ones I know of are the 2 from WI's Giants in Miniature

Yeah.. it was converations in plastic. Of the platoon from the film.

There are also these two platoon leaders (ex-Studio minis), now sold by Hayland Terrain

👍🏻 what I'm trying to find weren't figures for sale.. theybwere a conversion project that had used plastic figures to produce all the characters from the Film.

Presumably you mean soft plastic figures in 1/72? I'd love to see that myself.
The only range of (hard) plastic Vietnam War era figures in 28mm that I am aware of is the Rubicon range and that's a relatively recent development. They lend themselves well to conversion purposes.

I think one or more of these guys was a personality from the movie Platoon, though I may be incorrect on that. These are from the 28mm Black Sun line from Crucible Crush (Pulp Figures).

I don't think the second personality pack has any from that movie, though...

Hi Mike.
Thanks. Though again the figures were 28mm hard plastic converstions using various ranges some ww2. There were some metal parts if I remember right, to provide stuff that couldn't come from what was available in plastic.

I do remember this being posted some years ago, iirc the OP used the old warlord us infantry (or maybe the marines) with some hefty greenstuff work to bring the kit up to date. If I recall correctly weapons were from The Assault Group (there weren't many other options at the time).

Yeah that sounds pretty much like it.
Now of only knew what happend to it! 🤔🙄😏😳😉
