Just painted up one of Steelfist's excellent Italian wars foot knights as Richard de La Pole ( the last surviving Yorkest Pretender).
Need the opinion of the LAF panel of experts/enthusiasts :
What would the colour of the plume of feather on his helmet be?
Been going down a lot of rabbit holes on the "Wonder Web".
Can you please help.
Kind regards

Anything he so desired is the simple answer. By the time of Richard De La Pole's blossoming in France liveries were not so fast attached to the colours of a standard in the same way they were during the Wars of the Roses for example.
In other words, unless there's a specific mention of his plumes in the literature, it's up to you :)

In the Pavia tapestries, the figure ascribed to him has red and black (or very dark blue) plumes.

Thanks guys , gone with a red and blue theme. He will now lead a retinue of black band landsknechts at BIG Ruckus in 10 days time :) Unfortunately this proxy retinue perpetuates the myth of the black band landsknechts wearing black. A better one will appear later on in the year.

I'm sure he will do well! "A Pole! A Pole!" 8)

It's Billhooks, it's up to you just how historical accurate you take it :)
