My attempt at modelling a fortified Manor house loosely based on Basing House, but more in size for the Lacey Manor at Arnescote. Most of the components are converted from pieces by Mick at Leven with some internal buildings, the curtain walls and one of the towers scratchbuilt.
Base is 12" x 9" layered foamcore.

The empty central area is sized to fit one of my Tercio Infantry bases (for the "Tercios; Liber Militum" rules) which represents the full garrison, with small skirmish bases sized to fit the turret towers.

I still need to add separate external fieldworks/pallisades for the outer defences and some gun positions for the besieging troops.

Looks great - the paintjob ties it all together.

Great bit of modelling Rob and very nicely painted too. :)

Well done !!

Great work robh!
Btw I love Leven Miniatures buildings etc.

I need to source some ECW era guns suitable for besieging the place before it hits the table. The calibre of the standard H&R ECW artillery is a bit small.
I am on the hunt for some illustrations of ECW or 30YW siege trains.

Thanks Pete, Mick at Leven was a huge help when I started this, pointing out which materials and products he uses on his masters. Turns out he uses a standard Slaters embossed sheet for stone walls, but cuts each individual stone out and rebuilds the wall on his master model block by block to get the wonderful 3D texture. Needless to say I totally failed to muster such dedication and bodged it. :-X
I really hope he recovers from his health issues and gets back to modelling, he is a real craftsman, the Fachwerkhäuser he did are tiny little works of art.

That looks awesome, nicely done. Definitely one of the appeals of the smaller scale stuff is being able to model whole compounds like this!
I had a quick look for Leven Miniatures last night and it looks like their website is offline. Are they out of production?

Currently yes, Mick has been having serious health issues and Leven was a one man operation.

Beautifully finished: I kept forgetting how tiny it is.
