Join the people of Mornea, noblemen and proud representatives of the Republic Khalimane, in the gentle nation Aurlok by way of the corrupt kingdom of Avalon and empire thrives of the Triad of Nephrite... Take part in numerous clashes which spot Mornéa but keep in mind that they aim only at determining which will appropriate the means most appraised by the Broken World: Stones Alchimiques. With Alkemy, the game of figurines, simulate these clashes in the course of interactive parties where your tactician's talents will be put in hard test: You will have to manage the actions of your troops at best to surprise your adversary. You will have to bluff this one in the course of intense battles. You will have to make intercede your alchemists wisely. Make Jin you so chief of the Demarcations, the true points of potency on Mornea!

Interesting take on Native Americans, there.

I wish the best of luck to all these continental European companies that bring us games like these. They add a new interesting facet to miniature wargaming.

This was my first thought, too. But this seems to be a new company.

But the gametable looks like Team Toulouse, maybe they could answer a few qustions.

Looks very promissing, especially with this nice terrain board.

I guess I need to refresh (resp. badly improve  ) my rudimentary skills of the French language...  :D

I'm focusing on all the wrong parts again, but that table is beautiful, such a wonderful rich colour and great texture.

The toad shaman chaps are cool too, I like the picture of the one with an octopus on his head.

But it's the great gaming table that's stolen my attention from the game here.

Nope, They are from two differents companies : Asmodée Editions for Hell Dorado, and Kraken Editions For Alkemy.

But Allan Carrasco (his website (http://allanc.art.free.fr/index2.htm)) seem to work bor both. He's one of the most french talentuous painters et sculptors. Like his chaps Jeremy Bonamant, Thomas David et J-A Gillois, they were all revealed by the French GW Golden Deamon. Allan won again tne last one !

Matt

"No, he didn't". It's the answer from a guy who work for he on the ALKEMY project. ALKEMY is his project.
The game and two miniatures groups will be available just before next christmas (niovembre if all goes right).
KRAKEN edition is a "groupe de peintre" who need make some big project together. They written rules and sculpted miniatures.

These are some information catch on the salon du jeu de Toulouse this afternoon. ;)

@ le matou rouge:
Thanx for the answer!

Had a quick exchange of comments on CMon with Jeremie ages ago, he really seems to be a nice guy, apart from being a great painter.
Good to know he is still on such great projects!

An answer from an e-mail to the company:

Hello Burkard,

First, I'd like to tank you for your interest in our game. It's nice to see international gamers having a look at our work ;)
English rules will be availables on our website when Alkemy will be release this end of year. Alkemy will have is own great book of background and full rules end of 2008 and it will probably be available in French and English.

We are planning to come to Essen Spiel this fall but this is not sure at this moment. This will be annonced on our website as soon as we know.

About the game system... let's say that will be a bit difficult just to tell by mail. The website will be fully operationnal in one month approximatively with an english version for international users. There will be on this site presentation of Alkemy's rules and universe.

Regards,

Joss

I just know, terrain is very importante. Lot of actions need to have some element (hearth, fire, water and air probably). Elements will be available on or in the board game (terrain table). So if you need win, you will cacth element dispatch on the terrain.
It's on information Im catch last week-end ;)

GW is gonna be all over that first one as a Slaanesh rip-off. Are we sure it is for Alkemy, and not a sculpt for a Golden Demon?

The Aurloks

Imagine vast green meadows, huge straits of land covered here and there by fire colored canyons, greeny hills, windy mountains and forests that are so thick that the sunlight itself has trouble piercing through... You have just entered the Aurlock territory : «Oblaye Iste», or the yellow-blue plains, which is the meaning of this word in Aurlok language. You have just entered the vastest territory of Mornea.

Oblaye Itse is a country that has a very varied and flourishing fauna and flora. It provides the Aurloks with everything they need to survive, and those provide affection and security to all living things in Oblaye Iste, from the smallest flower to the thundering herds of Aurochs that dwell there.
But Oblaye Itse also has everything to awaken the greed of its neighbours. Its valleys are covered with natural resources, including the alchemical stones that you can find abundantly there. More than anybody, the Avalonians would love to annex some parts of Oblaye Itse to their own territory.
The Aurloks are on an overall level organized as nomad tribes, following the rhythm of the seasons and the migrations of the wild. They are quite pacific tribes, but do not trust their appearent peacefulness ! Their war-songs can echo as quickly as a thunderstorm in the summer. The Aurloks then become savage and merciless warriors whose wrath is guided by their totems: The Manitus.
The children of Aurlokan have a very close relationship to the Manitus. Each newborn is placed under the patronage of one of these animal spirits. Its morphology as well as behaviour and skills are then influenced by its Totem.

The members of the Aurlok Nation

The toad Manitu, also called Walosi by the Aurloks, is at the heart of the Aurlok nation. Traditionnaly, he represents wisdom, happiness and health.
Those placed under the tutelage of the Toad manitou are gifted with a friendly and open mood. They also develop advanced capabilities in terms of empathy and perception. They are hence perfectly fit to manage relationships with other races.
Some other develop also some very peculiar physical abilities. Some are able to produce in their blood or on their skin toxins, that medecine shaman use in decoctions and potions.
Even if the Aurloks of the clan of the Toad occupy many key roles in the Aurlok nation, the gifts granted by Walosi make them excellent ambassadors, healers, negociators, and most of all very likeable companions.

Kingdom of Avalon:

The mist has just risen on the towering mountains of the morning in the east of Mornea. Slowly, the coat of mist crawls forward the Delta of the Ciar river. It envelops muddy swamps, vegetation and old man raised scorched stonewalls with its moist.
As the fog is still progressing, close to the mud pits, it covers a sad city whose highest towers only dare to pierce out.
The city is vast, sinsister, and the wind seems to wail across its desolated walls. The dark shadow of Kerkastel, the capital cit of the Kingdom of Avalon finally emerges from the mist. From this fear inspiring city, Lady Alienor of the 1000 masks rules with undisputed authority of her people and lords, the 7 dukes of Avalon.
But, while the body of the avalonians belongs to their acting queen, their souls belong to the avalonnian church. Playing his role as supreme guide of the Avalonnian faith, the Cardinal Augustus inspires respect and fear to everyone in the kingdom, be they peasants or noblemen.
He is the guardian of a secret that links Avalon to a very special being: the Beathacrann. It is unique tree of immense size, gifted with its own will, and whose branches and roots seem to extend in impossible lenghts in any possible direction.
Following a dark covenant that was made with the tree on the creation of Avalon, the Church of Avalon can now provide its followers with sinister gifts of seemingly unlimited power.
But if the church can reward the most ruthless of its followers, it can also punish those responsible of Heresy. For these madmen, the quick death offered by one of the three templar orders is a godsend, compared to the eternal torments that await them if they are offered to the good care of the Beathacrann...
