Title: Lion Rampant Wars of the Roses Campaign (updated 14 June)
Post by: TWD on 29 March 2025, 08:04:58 AM
The excellent second edition Lion Rampant book includes a "Five Game Campaign" that we decided would make a good excuse to get our Wars of the Roses forces out.

Long simmering tensions between Lord Kerbye of Sherwyde and Lord Ballroom of Ilkestoyne have come to the boil against a backdrop of war across the kingdom.

The first game sees a smaller force of Ballroom's men attempt to cross disputed territory as Kerbye's men close in

Ballroom's horse led the way:

And found themselves taking on Kerbye's billmen

As Ballroom's bill approached the safety of home territory the Kerbye Men At Arms ran them to ground

The second game of the campaign and the emboldened forces of Lord Kerbye make an assault on Thatchyre's Motte.
However Lord Ballroom's men won't surrender the hill without a fight

The campaign reaches the mid point.
Can much needed supplies make their way to the Kerbye stronghold?

Wagons weave their way along the ancient pathways.

Lovely minis, and looks like a fun and focused campaign - having a bit of a frame around some linked games can be so much more useful than meandering things which fizzle out after a while.

I am digging those colors ! The green looks lovely. Some inspiration for my own for sure! Looks like you had a lot of fun. Great table. I spy a Perry wine wagon, very cool

A valuable prisoner has escaped from Lord Kerbye, can he be apprehended before he returns to Lord Ballroom?

Kerbye hasparted with good coin to secure the services of some Irish Kern.

Ah, the Irish have gotten stuck in with the English! Very cool, those are the Perry metals, correct? I rarely see them painted up and on the field! I'll have to get around to mine some day if I can stomach the cleanup process! Very nice sculpts.
The green knight with Ballroom's flag is still my favorite, I think!

After quite a delay we finally reach the climax of the campaign.
