Though Dragonfrog Games (https://www.dragonfroggames.co.uk/)' shophouses have been around for a few years now, very few pictures of them built and painted exist online, so I thought I'd post mine. Not only do they fill a significant niche, but they're also incredibly easy to put together.
My buildings are 20mm, but the kits are also available in 15mm and 28mm.

Great work on those - you have done a very good job of hiding the base MDF buildings.
And welcome to LAF!

Thanks you for sharing, that is some fantastic work on those mdf buildings! I didn't even know they existed, and now I think I might have to order a set myself!
-
Thanks for sharing those and introducing me to your blog here. It's more than the buildings, but the soft color selection that makes them stand out.

Thank you for posting these. I have been considering them for some time. Your work on these shophouses is top notch and has convinced me!

Those do indeed look great!

Thank you all for the very kind comments.

I'm glad the pictures had their intended effect! Dragonfrog Games really deserves to be better known given the excellence of both their products and service.

As someone who lives in southeast asia (Singapore), in an area with lots of shophouses, this is an area I can comment on. Below are some photos of shophouses in my neighbourhood. Points to note:
- Shophouses are built directly ajoining each other. There are no gaps between them.
- The idea (as the name suggests) is that the business / storage area is on the ground floor, and the family lives "above the shop" on the second floor.
- Shophouses can be as upmarket or downmarket as their owners.
- Thick wooden shutters are a necessity (monsoon is a b***h).
- They can be quite colourful (with pastel colours commonly used).
- I've seen the same layout of shophouses from Bangkok to Hanoi to Manila to Jakarta. They're quite universal.

I can recall streets like your second pic when I first visited Singapore, to me that was the real Asia not the multi storied supermarkets that they have become.
-
I love the old shophouse aesthetic, there's a colorful group in Bangkok near the Grand Palace. I'll share a photo when I can find it.

Excellent work, they look great - they would even work for the Mediterranean region.

Thanks for posting. I want to do a street for a Vietnam game.

A minor update featuring a Blue Moon/Old Glory 15mm building that works great with 20mm figures. Also something of a personal achievement in that I managed to complete it in one sitting between breakfast and lunch.

That turned out very well. I need to make a few of those for my Southeast Asian waterfront Pulp Alley table.

I like that. I imagine it'll be quite versatile...
