Title: Who makes 28mm police equipped with protective vests?
Post by: Pattus Magnus on April 20, 2025, 09:06:50 PM: I am hoping to find some modern police officer figures that are wearing tactical vests. So far I have seen quite a few modern police figures, but all are either missing the vests or are fully kitted out for riot control or SWAT duties. Do police figures with basic protective equipment even exist?

Any help would be appreciated at this point!

Post by: CapnJim on April 20, 2025, 09:14:26 PM: While many US police officers are wearing tactical vests now, with plates integral to the vests, many others still wear their vests under their duty uniform shirts. Police figures that are "just" wearing duty shirts could still be regardied as wearing armor - it'd just be under their shirts...

Post by: carlos marighela on April 20, 2025, 09:49:45 PM: Urban Beat, does/did a range of Bobbies in flat caps and wearing stab vests. Think early 2000s episodes of The Bill. Most if not all are tooled up with MP5s, maybe best if you need a TSG.

The ironically named Hasslefree produce a range of bobbies based on Hot Fuzz, in stab vests and with a variety or arms options. Caveat emptor and the best of luck ordering them in the lottery that is doing business with HF.

See, American cops aren't fat after all. It's just their tactical armour that makes their bums look big in uniform. lol

Post by: Rick on April 20, 2025, 10:48:48 PM: I had a few of those Urban Beat figures as I was also looking for UK cops - not terribly impressed by them, I'm sorry to say. The closest I came was the Eureka multipart SWAT figures with Gripping Beast WW1 British caps as flat hats but they were a touch small in comparison with other ranges. Still looking.

Spectre Miniatures, while a UK company, seem to concentrate on law enforcement officers from the USA. However, I can only see two on their website who are visibly wearing vests, one of whom is an FBI agent and the other a Texas Ranger, but as noted by CapnJim, this doesn't necessarily mean that some of the others - SWAT teams aside - are not doing so discreetly.

Uniforms vary im Canada a bit between RCMP and the various provincial and city/ municipal police forces, but a “paint conversion” would do in most cases. They’re similar to US and UK police in flat caps. At this point I’m less worried about uniform details than the body armour, which has been issued by the Canadian police forces I’m familiar with for at least 20 years.
