Hello,
I would like to play the German Peasants War in 6mm and I am looking for a good set of rules. I was thinking of using Impetus but I would like to ask if there are any other good recommendations. Thanks.

You could try To the Strongest! (in the interest of full disclosure, these are rules wot I wrote). I have written army lists for both the peasants and the Swabian league, and also have some lists for Tudor revolts in England, if you fancy branching out. They are in the Medieval Army List eBook.

You might want to download The Warrior, a free supplement to Der Söldner. As the previous post here too a full disclosure… I wrote the supplement and the rules. The supplement will give you an idea of the mechanics, and hopefully sufficient to see if it is something for you.

I bought the WoFun German Peasants War collection along with some others of their Great Italian Wars range too and I use To the Strongest for my games. Love TtS for any ancient, medieval, early Ren games.
I dont use points though and try to set up fairly realistic scenarios and this was not a balanced war. So far my peasants have been trounced in every game I've played. But if you make some victory conditions to help them out that would possibly give them a chance.
Straight out battlefield triumph for the peasants, very very unlikely.

A third vote for TTS....or is it 2nd after Simon admitted he was the author?? My go-to set for anything ancient or medieval. Some simple but innovative mechanisms which give a fast paced game. You will need a gridded mat to play the game plus various chits. It isn't a dice and rulers game!

Thanks chaps! Those peasants were really up against it; poorly equipped and commanded, and up against professionals. But a great looking army; particularly the Steel Fists.

Oh dear, Simon mentioning Steel Fist has forced to me to look at their website. Superb models, plus Artizan also produce some suitable figures. I must resist and remember I still have 3 unpainted, and 2 half-painted TTS armies "in the stash"..

Thanks for the suggestions. I have bought the pdf for To the Strongest and will check out some of the others as well.
