Greetings Gents,
Since I've posted a few pics on the "Wargaming the Bible" thread on the Ancients part of the forum, I decided to post some pics of one of the other projects I'm working on: the 1st Schleswig-Holstein War of 1848 in 15mm.
We'll start with the Swedes. I'm still working on the Swedish and Norwegian Jaegers and the Swedish line but the Norwegian line is completed, as is the Swedish/Norwegian artillery and one unit of Swedish hussars (Skanska). I[ll post pics of the completed units for your enjoyment (or ridicule! lol).
The Skanska hussars are first - the flag is from the Napoleonic period and yes, I know the Swedish hussars didn't use flags but I wanted something.
-
Norwegian Musketeers
-
Danish infantry advancing - (half of the proposed 6 battalions)
These are OG15s (Old Glory 15s) Mexican-American War Mexican infantry. To get the dudes in the field cap, I just cut down the shako.
-
Swedish/Norwegian artillery - 6 pdrs. in front and 9 pdrs. in the rear
Danish shako artillery (guns will be added once I paint the Danish kepi artillery crews)
-
I think I'm finally getting the hang of how to post pics.
The Germans will have around the same battalions as the Danes/Swedish Coalition (56 or so), 12 regiments of cavalry and around the same number of guns (30)
Here are some of the Germans:
Wurttemberg
Baden
A battalion of Hanover line
Lippe-Detmold
A sampling of Schleswig-Holstein 1st Draft infantry
-
German artillery:
Bavaria
Hanover
Hesse
Oldenburg
Prussia
Saxony
Schleswig-Holstein
-
Lovely job, good to see somebody other than me interested in the 1st Schleswig Holstein war :)

Hey Dave,
You actually inspired me to get off my lazy butt and start painting! I've never been a 28mm guy but your work on the 1st S-H War is damned inspiring!
I don't know what I'll end up painting this weekend but I'm thinking of finishing up the Swedish and Norwegian jaegers and a few of the Swedish musketeer battalions. If I do, I'll post the pics here.
