A Citroen Hot Wheels car picked up a few weeks ago whilst shopping, I opted to paint it in split colours. I do intend adding a table and garbage bin on the grassed area as soon as I find them in my model railway bits box, it will join my Cold War terrain collection.
Now I need a name for it! My wife suggested to call it “Matts chew and spew”….. as she detests take away food.

Nice little chip van!
I'd be inclined to commemorate Anglo-French amity as well as tip of the hat to motowrway cafs with Egon René or perhaps as tribute to the fine fare available Mitch & Ellen's Chip Van. :D

Heiße Wurst
Würstchenbude
Bratwurst-Wolfgang (or insert any other German owner's name)
Pommesbude
Bratwurst & Pommes Frites
Currywurst
Brathähnchen
Grillhähnchen
Something rather neutral?
Stehimbiss
Imbissbude
Getränkestand
Schnellimbiss
...
If you are after a specific German region, there could be plenty of typical local/regional dialectic names for particular culinaric specialties as well - just name it!
Knödel-Else
Weggla-Erich
Kohl und Pinkel
Brezen-Karl
Buletten-Fritze
Reiberdatschi
Leberkäs-Beppo
...

Tubers Reich
Tubermensch

Wurst than Death?
The Bratmobile?
Kartoffeln Kart?
All fantastic suggestions.

Very nice.
-
Thats really effective, does it work for 15mm?
-
Upon reflection you should probably aim for a name with one of those mind-bendingly awkward German compound nouns that wraps itself all the way around the van and requires a team of lexicographers to adequately decipher and explain.

Okay. I had to put that through the translator app. I think you nearly choked it lol

Linguistics aside, nice truck... :D
But how about Toten von Wurst?

Great work - every modern project should have meals on wheels for the troops

Cold Eats/ The Cold Eats Story
The Grate Escape Grill
John Kennedy's Donut Wagon? (Ich bin ein Berliner/pfannkuchen) ;)
Der Pfannkuchenpanzer.
Don't forget that the humble kebab is one of Germany's favourite fast foods, due in large part to the large Turkish population.
How about Doner und Blitzen?
-
Der Wurstwagen would be an easier fit. Or Wienermobilewagen if you're up for more lettering.
-
Wolfgang’s Bratty Wagon, legend of the Cold War….
-
Wolfgang allegedly had better tabs on where the British army was at any given time than the GRU.
I spent a bit of time looking for a diecast version of that van, without much luck. Would make a great scenario objective.
-
One of these might work for 28mm, I would think. Mind you, a repaint would be in order...

Mercedes "Düsseldorfer Transporter", "Düdo", "T2". There is a OOP die cast in 1/50th scale by Cursor available every now and then https://www.ebay.de/itm/363178103361
Mine is still on the road everyday...

Many thanks Michi.
What's the flashing amber light on yours for, may I ask?

It was an ambulance with a blue beacon. I had to replace the glass and de-install the sirens for private use. Amber beacons are allowed for safety when necessary.
-
Cool. I've been thinking about getting an amber light for when my wife finally passes her driving test. Only fair to other road users. :D
-
Make way please, Emergency Wienermobilewagen coming through!

To insert technical terminology into this discussion, we (USAREUR in the 80s anyway) referred to our amber lights (which we always deployed when leaving our caserne) as "whoopie lights".

Officially "Rundumleuchte" in German, commonly called "Blinklicht" in general and "Blaulicht" if blue (fire engines, police vehicles, ambulances)...

My mate Mal in Batemans Bay NSW nicknamed his takeaway Mal’s chew and spew as he was near the servicemen’s club and a big pub. He stayed open till after mignight to capture the drunken clients.
Cheers
