I came up with a new Indiana Jones campaign to play with my son (Fistful of Lead rules).
Indy and friends are up against Italian fascist Don Lardo and his evil minions in the race to find the lost Aquila of Aelius Gallus.

In part 1 they are trying to get the map with the location of a lost desert temple where the aquila was hidden centuries ago.
The map is hidden inside a house.

Despite putting up a valiant fight, Indy and friends lost the map, mainly due to the speed, fighting and shooting abilities of a San Marco marine.

that's mad how the road is two completely different colours in those photos...

I look forward to reading the battle report. :-*
Not worried - Indy will be back...he always does!

Coolness. Did you do any tweaks of the rules at all and, if so, what did you do?
For icons like Indy, I plan to make them virtually indestructible, take out of action for a game maybe but back good as new for the next go round - most of the time. And, of course, the task role can cover so much.

Lighting conditions were less than optimal so I had to adjust brightness of the pictures a bit. This may have caused it.
Then again, it may be just the material. It's a beer mat with a dirt/stone road like image printed on. Small fiber loops cover the surface. I like this because it takes away the ultrasmooth appearance of a paper/brown cloth road.
Also it is very versatile as it doesn't look out of place in almost any environment on earth.

Thx!
I didn't tweak the rules, but I allow " out of action" victims and wounded characters to return in subsequent games. They may need to skip the next game, but can return in the game after that. So in the next game Sallah will be recovering from his wounds, but Rupert and Don Lardo will return. Signore Cattivi will most likely be replaced by another minion.

Thanks for sharing your adventure, its always good to see Indy in action!

Thx!
Indy is back in Part 2!
It turns out the map is pretty much useless without a special metal code disc which is in the hands of a trader. Both Indy and friends and Don Lardo and minions will have to locate this trader in a coastal town.
This time my son played the heroes and I got the villans >:D

The heroes won the day. Indy went on a close combat rampage and took down 3 villans including Don Lardo himself!

Indy will reach the site of the Aquila in the next game, but Don Lardo is already on his trail....

In part 3, Indy is exploring the lost temple where the Lost Aquila is supposedly hidden. Don Lardo and his minions have surrounded Indy's camp and are bent on stopping Indy.
It was a short game, but still lots of fun.

Indy was still standing at the end of the game, but he was the only one of the heroes.
Don Lardo and his minions have discovered a hidden tunnel in the temple ruins going down into a cave system I have yet to build :)
So the next episode might take a while before I can post it.

The worm keeps turning. First Indy and the gang win, then Don Lardo and his boys. Sounds pretty balanced. I like the temple...good luck on the caverns!

Nice to see the campaign moving along, may it so continue for a long time - or at least until I get my stuff painted enough to run games! :o lol
Just found my fourth Indy figure again counting the one without the all important whip, probably use him as Fedora.
-
A great story so far... I like the back and forth going on between the two sides.
Like you, I tend to allow characters to return in the next game, although this may change as I get more experienced: at the moment I'm still getting used to the rules...
-
If you want four more Indy type of scenarios, then Wargames Illustrated #450 and #452 have the Parts 1 and 2 (respectively) of my 7TV "Shifting Sands" serial. Should be very easy to adapt for other rule sets.
-
Very interesting. It seems your son wins a lot, regardless of whose side he plays.... ;)
-
Thanks for taking us on this adventure, I look forward to seeing what happens in the tunnel and caverns.

For Andy in Germany: as you may know, the Fistful of Lead rules have a mechanism to 'resurrect' players after the end of a game and since the rules are a 'tool kit' feel free to make adjustments to ensure the more heroic/leading character figures survive to make it into the next game/installment. Absolutely part of my plan. Of course, that applies to campaign games. For one off games I don't think it matters.
Just plain great rules. And, no, Jaye didn't pay me to say so. Hmm, maybe he should! :o lol
