Given reputation, and continuing testimony, I'm probably being done a favour:
tried to make a small test order with BTD yesterday (UK), and Paypal (only option) fails, with Checkout reporting an 'error'.
Problem not at my end (tried diff. browsers / devices, and made other purchases with PP no problem) afaik.
so ... is it really the case that only BTD offer those specific ranges of 'oldhammer' fantasy figures?
I think they were the Harlequin ranges of old?
-
Is it definitely BTD and not, for example, an internet/bot issue? I know that other companies have had real problems in the last week or so with associated issues. Leave it a couple of days and try again?
-
Ebay?
-
They are scoundrels and you will never know if you will get a delivery or not. I am sure though I have seen the Harlequin range elsewhere on the web somewhere...
-
ebay prices generally scalping - and none of the one's I'm interested in available anyway.
tbh, being reminded of BTD's awful conduct and customer service, the PP issue has prob. saved me arse-ache.

Traveller, I'm all ears, if you can remember where.

Noble Knight games or Ebay is all I can suggest.

Maybe this:

Maybe Etsy as well

Not sure what you are after?
Have you tried Scotia Grendel?

thanks for links folks.
I'm talking about the black tree designs 'oldhammer' fantasy metal figures.
the wood elves specifically.
yes, I'm familar with Scotia Grendel, thanks. Not quite right.

Seb Games started selling some of the "not at all 90s GW" figures, but sadly stopped.
I wish Scotia or someone would pick up the range, (even if the lotr uruks are great!)
I got lucky years ago and had no trouble with BTD. I wish I ordered more that one delivery!
-
I ordered once from BTD too, and it came fast, and I was happy; I was one of the VERY FEW, apparently. It was some early war Germans for Dolt Action, if I recall.
I only learned of the BTD horror stories after.
Never … ever … again …

You dealt with BTD UK or US - the latter supposedly much better?
I'm wondering about contacting the US branch and seeing if they'll deal with UK customers, but answer will prob. be 'no' for all sorts of reasons currently, even if in principle they're agreeable.
BTD Uk's conduct is an utter mystery, if even half the complaints etc are true (and I'm not doubting anyone).
I've tried once before - again, a small test order given their reputation.
As it wasn't updating quickly enough for my expectations, I asked to cancel - and was immeditaly replied to affirmatively ::)
interesting, and frustrating, that there are other sets of moulds etc about, given the Seb comment.
As you say, wish someone sensible would pick them up.
Can't believe there isn't a reasonable customer-base to tap into ...

The last post on FB was August 2019.Might be worth dropping them a message on there.
-
don't go near FB if I can avoid it.
don't worry folks - BTD uk are obviously to be avoided, and the figures aren't available otherwise, so that's that I guess.

Unfortunate, but true. I guess we can close this discussion, then.
