Some scratchbuilt barrows I’ve just finished
-
Hopefully the pic works
-
Well done. I do like those.
-
Nicely done!
-
Great stuff, I think I saw them on one of the Discord servers/FB earlier today.
-
they look fantastic, is the stone woodchip or slate?
-
Very nice.
-
They look really nice indeed.
-
They look grand sir.
-
Those look grand. I really like the grass effects on the barrows themselves
-
Thanks everyone! The rocks are slate, funnily enough off wargames foundry’s roof !
-
Oh that's very good, well done!

Now that's a resource that not everyone has access to! Great stuff.
Of course, being a completionist, now I want to see the interiors of those barrows. -lol-
-
Yes, indeed, interiors… and a few wights guarding their gold!
-
Those are looking great! 8)
Dare I say a hill to die on? :D
-
Just lovely. Excellent job there; you'll get a ton of use out of these over the years for sure.
-
They look great! Barrows have always been on my 'To Make' wish list, and these are hugely inspiring. Thanks for sharing!
-
Thanks guys, they were really easy to make to be fair, I’ve made a few over the years, they get better the more I do,I must try one with an interior, maybe a kings barrow ? And a start to a tunnel complex?
-
I do like these barrows!
-
Great stuff, awesome to see scratch-built terrain! Also, I'm always afraid to use grass tufts to such an extent (are those grass tufts?), but the results on this just look awesome so I may have to just start doing it also! Inspiring stuff, thanks for posting.

You might dare to try but I'd have to point out where the bodies are buried! lol

If the central area is made of foam, it wouldn't be that hard to slice a removable hilltop, and tart up a couple small chambers within the barrow's area.
Hmmm. Maybe I should make a couple, too!
-
Thanks guys! Yes I use grass tufts of various shades and size, I don’t cover the whole surface with it, I then use a flock mix to fill the gaps in between the areas of tufts
-
If you are going to cover large areas, have a look for model railway static g4ass applicators.
An example is https://www.wwscenics.com/product-category/pro-grass-applicators/ (https://www.wwscenics.com/product-category/pro-grass-applicators/)
I have seen that company's applicator in action, and it looks good (I do not own one).
It is a lot cheaper than tufts as you are just using static grass.
-
Best ones you've made yet! I say that as the proud owner of your previous ones! :D
-
Those look sweet! Suitable barrow wight out front too.
-
They look great Andy.
That is some serious tuftage! :-*
