I'll start with my milliput t-shirt, an item so inherently cool that it takes my breath away putting it on... 8)

What about thee?

Shorts.
A bit too warm and humid for long trousers just now.
I don't care what it looks like as long as I'm comfortable! lol

Well, with that, you win your topic - it fills the void! lol

Nice shirt!
There's a dude who lives around my hood in Edinburgh who often wears shirts with Games Workshop art on them including a very cool one with the Confrontation art. I imagine they're homemade, which makes them cooler. I always mean to compliment him, but dude always looks like he's in a hurry. Tollcross GW-shirt guy, if you're reading this... nice shirts!
Today I am wearing my Initial State shirt, a band who only existed for a few months in 1994. I doubt that makes me a cool gamer.
-
I got some nice free socks when I bought some Hobgoblin Gold today - they’ve got Hobgoblin on one side and a picture of an axe on the other. Incredibly cool.
Despite the heat, I am wearing more than just socks, btw. :o

Just for the record, I'm not wearing socks. But those ARE very cool socks. Damn, I like Hobgoblin as well; wondering if I can get me some of them socks! lol
-
I’m guessing that’s a … beer?
-
I'm currently wearing my "Probably thinking about the Roman Empire" t-shirt.
Yesterday I was wearing one of these (from Rapier Miniatures)

Game at home, so nothing at all. That's relatively cool if the aircon doesn't let us down.
-
Cool and gamers :o lol
Shorts this time of year ;)
-
I have put my shorts on this morning only to find it is now raining here in Chester :(
-
I'm wearing my Galloping Major t-shirt.
-
A couple of options here.
-
That "I'd rather be" T shirt is pretty cool
-
I'm wearing tiny, tight, blue Speedos. With a bollock hanging out.
It's a powerful look.

Thanks for that mental image, I have just returned from Crete where the natives and some of a more Mediterranean background have to by law wear lime green budgie smugglers even if they are the size and shape of your average wargamer (not a great look, but more power to them lol) that is as long as they do not bend over in front of me (there are limits) :-X lol

You think that's bad? We were once (mercifully briefly) represented as a nation by a PM who liked to affect the look. He liked to eat raw onions on camera as a follow up act.
This thread is proof positive that the words 'gamer' and 'cool' do not belong in the same postcode let alone the same sentence. Mildly surprised that there aren't more references to Uriah Heep, Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin T-shirts.
Wargamers: the Deacon Blue of sartorial taste.
-
I have to disagree there Carlos - 'the look' is bad but to then top it off with one of those ridiculous red/yellow hats is appalling - 'kill it, kill it with fire' (the picture, not necessarily the person, obviously) level of appalling!
Ugh life is too short to be exposed to that sort of thing.
-
I think a photo of the Hobgoblin socks (see above) is necessary to prove that they are the ultimate in cool :D

If I wore white socks, even ones with Hobgoblin branding, I'd never hear the end of it from assorted female relatives. However, it's my birthday in August and they'll be asking for my list soon. Etsy's always a good place for ideas ...

What have your 'assorted female relatives' got against white socks?
-
They think that wearing them is a heinous sartorial crime. They might turn a blind eye if you're playing tennis though I expect trainer socks would be a safer bet.

White socks and Birkenstock sandals are now what the hipsters wear, so sock away, amigo. Let not the others dissuade you!

This is what I will be wearing, however, I do not consider myself to be cool, wargamer or otherwise??? lol
-
I live in the West, so mostly flannels and cowboy hats in these here parts.......
-
Hmm. Socks, yes. Sandals, yes. But socks with sandals? No, one simply has to draw a line somewhere.

Ever been to Calgary during Stampede? Halloween in July! Cosplay cowboys and cowgirls everywhere! Two weeks of the worst debauchery that you can imagine.

Out here, it is only half the people who are cos-playing. The other half are actual cowboys........ :)
However, we have similar festivals out here with similar results.
-
All boots and hat but no cattle…

Snapchase wins it by a Sharpe length

Yeah, there’s REAL cowboys and cattle here; and then there’s the O&G bros who never will get mud on their boots. None. Or their lifted monster trucks. It’s … embarrassing.
I used to live downtown, a walk from Stampede grounds, and one morning I see this dude - full mullet, chaps, vest (vintage!), boots (a cosplayer) - drinking a 1L bottle of milk on his way to the grounds. I got the most epic photo of him doing a gunslinger pose lol
Dude’s day was just getting started. The milk was to coat the stomach from the night before lol

It seems we are to mourn the passing of the standard gamer uniform from years gone by. No sense of tradition. Where are the Metallica T-shirts worn with a West German parka or Luftwaffe greatcoat, the greasy hair and acne? Did the protective layer of chip grease and sauce stains break down under the constant attrition of years of unwashed body odour? If one was to wander near a GW shop, how would you be able to confidently spot a potential customer of their wares before they entered?
It was a fine uniform, emblematic of the wearer's disdain for convential norms of hygiene or diet, their complete lack of fine motor skills (passed off as a dislike of all sporting endeavours, particularly football) and a somewhat dank and sickly pallor that announced to the world 'I am an incel'. To those outside this band of illuminati it bore a warning not to closely approach them from down wind and certainly not to get within range of casual conversation. It was the very duffel coat and clipboard of the gaming world but with lower standards of personal grooming.
I suppose they have discovered the fine offerings of C&A, Target and Kmart these days. The only clue might be the slightly ridiculous pony tail stub that adorns what remains of their receding follicular glory atop their otherwise balding bonces.
By the by, I believe there is a UN convention that proscribes the wearing of socks with sandals by anyone other than an American on their holidays. Don't do it! It's an invitation to a well deserved mugging or worse. :)

They film the Yellowstone series where I am, so many fauxboys. Real catttle men wear Carhart.
-
I don't really game or attend conventions, but I did pop round to the Penarth 'Crusade' show one year since it was a quick drive away. I was on my way to training after the show and wore one of my fancy shrink-wrap rugby tops that squeezes in all the embarrassing bits. I met Guy from WS&S for the first time (after having done a couple of articles for the magazine) and he said he was shocked because I looked nothing like he expected. I declined to mention the flattering effect of lycra sportswear on a squishy torso and took the win. And the room did smell like 2 week old warm pasties.

I wonder if i can ever find a replacement for the “Fight harder, the Emperor is watching!” with Tricolour flag tee-shirt i had 45 years ago. I would need a much larger version…
-
About a decade ago, all my games were played in a suit and tie as I was getting to game right after my corporate job on the way back to my home. The was cumbersome!

Sound a bit intimidating, like you really mean business when you game.

Too bad my game play could never back it up! lol lol lol

These are what I'm wearing
-
Love the top one - the very famous picture of a Persian Immortal in formal Median attire. Very, very cool. But not if you're one of those sheep-stealing barbarian Macedonians! lol lol

Babylon looks like it’s falling. it shouldn’t have been built in the first place…handsworth….

What cool gamers wear to a Tiki Bar party! (Look away now if you are of a nervous disposition). N.B. no socks with flip flops!

Quite right but never a cravat and an Hawaiian shirt, really nice and I like the understated colours and patterns lol :D

I am also demonstrating the ideal wargamers body shape ;)
-
Our usual gaming host wears Hawaiian shirts 90% of the time, I think. He has them in all themes, so will wear WW II airplanes when we're playing WW II, Star Trek spaceships when we are doing space battles, whatever.
Let it be said I own zero Hawaiian shirts. But as for t-shirts, I have two separate drawers of them in my dresser! lol
Mike Demana

I also have no Hawaiian shirts in my wardrobe but big respect to the courageous fellows who sport them lol

I would say Edward Woodward captured the everlasting cool wargamer look in the Battleground TV Series from the 1970s…
Skivvy, slacks and an odd cardigan top (with appropriately short sleeves), I suspect he is sporting comfortable loafers to boot!

I don’t have any tiki shirts - although I LOVED the tiki bar on Main St in Vancouver.

I dunno, old Edward was a bit snappier in Callan, the fillum. Slightly rumpled suit and a 'Noguchi .38 Magnum'. Dress like that, accessorise properly and you get to shoot your opponent into the bargain. Best to do it after lunch though. :)

I thought this might have been me for a minute but sadly I wear Cadian Shock Troop and Tanith ones myself. If you see me though please do say hello :P Oh! Also a demented T shirt from a band called Warpstormer who use Space Crusade artwork :D

I certainly will! Listening to Warpstormer for the first time just now.

Let's talk about headwear! Since I don't have much hair left, I need to keep my head warm, dry, or sun free.
For myself, I prefer the old skullie/flat cap. I have been wearing one since 2010 at least, and by now I have enough to match almost all my clothing choices. I even have a winter version with a flap to cover my ears..... just like my grandad use to have! Wearing a flat cap has become part of my brand!
How about you folks?
-
Let's talk about headwear!
I do not wear hats (generally...) but since I live on the Wet Coast I do appreciate a good quality rain coat with a hood. My current favourite, a black Helly Hansen Crew Midlayer Jacket from 2018.

Lately I have been going without a shirt to show off my recent shrapnel injury. ;)
