So, it might have been an odd way to go about it, but the first of the '5kore' books I got was '5pfh: tactics', I'm now looking to pick up both 5pfh and 5lftb (eventually). But I have a couple of questions I would appreciate some help with from existing players.
I noticed the 2 compendiums available, 1 for each system, each with all the supplements in them. Is it better to get these at the same time as the rulebook or is it better to wait, get a campaign or two under my belt, then move on to the additional stuff?
The other question is a bit trickier - with the release of 5pfh: tactics, has anyone heard if there are plans to bring out a similar book for 5lftb?
Cheers!

There are two expansions for 5 leagues in PDF, but the print compilation of those two plus a third, is due for pre-order soonTM, so it seems sensible to wait for that. I can't find a link, I think they said in the next month or two.
I haven't heard of anything similar to Tactics for 5 Leagues. But that's really just absence of information so doesn't tell you anything lol

I did see that the compendium for Five Leagues is due out in September and I do intend to get it at some point.
The reason I asked about tactics for 5 Leagues was that both lines (5 Parsecs and 5 Leagues) do seem to be following a similar release schedule; 5 Parsecs release Rulebook, then expansion pdf's followed by a print compendium, then tactics - 5 Leagues release rulebook, then expansion pdf's followed (soon) by a print compendium, then ?? You see my point?

I follow your logic but haven't heard even a rumour of a similar game for 5L.
In other news, the 5L compendium preorder was posted today

Yeah I saw the pre-order on Wayland games, I think.
I've just ordered the main rulebook so I'll get my fantasy figures organised (just 5 file boxes of them, from goblins to bugbears and ogres, a couple of beholders and all sorts in between) and maybe get a campaign going before I look at the compendium.

So, the rulebook arrived and there is a lot of it. Combat looks pretty dangerous what with no comfortable extra wounds for the heroes and an huge variety of threats to fight against - I think learning if or when to run away will be a good skill to learn.
I've been working through what I've got assembled (but mostly not painted) in my file boxes and I think I can do quite a lot of the threats with those figures, a few more from my pile of unmade stuff which might just leave a couple of holes to fill with proxies.
I think I have far too many 'big guys' and not enough hero models to start off with but not too badly off - going to be sorting out some lizardmen and gnoll/gnawlings if I can find a certain bag with some figures in it. lol
