I've seen a few threads on Muskets & Tomahawks in 15mm
How are you all going about it? Are you using multiple 15mm instead of a singe 28mm mini on a base?
Thanks

Yes, I play M&T and Sharpe Practice in 15mm. I base two models to a base (25mm round for irregulars, 20x10mm for regulars). One base counts as one figure for gameplay. It means that units do look a little more like proper units.

I originally started by basing individually but eventually accumulated too many figures for that and switched over to three figure stands. I'm debating about going back in that direction but instead of one figure bases perhaps more like what Captain Blood is doing with his teeny-tiny pirates and have a unit with some at 1, some at 2, and some at 3 figures per base.
For now, though, I'm sticking with three figures per base and six stands per unit - and using Rank and File rules, they work but I tinker with the skirmishing rules, skirmishers can be way too powerful in some situations in the rules though at times that is historically accurate - just not all of the time.
Can't speak to Muskets and Tomahawks so not sure how much that helps.

error sorry

I use individual miniatures based on washers. I also make use of sabot bases.

Rather timely this has popped up, was thinking about 15mm FIW since someone mentioned that the New Epic Battles Revolution might be usable for FIW as well as the uniforms especially squinting at 15mm are close enough, and get civilian militia and skirmishing Indians.
Which of the 15mm miniature ranges would you recommend, IIRC there seems to be a lot of love for the Blue Moon Range, Essex Miniatures? and any others you'd recommend have personally used?
Also having seen your earlier (some years back) thread about the Last of the Mohicans did you ever find any 15mm figs from manufacturers or like yourself going to have to convert a little?
Thanks.
Andy.
Also got Parkman Musket and Tomahawk on the way, Empires Collide and the few Raids titles from Osprey, anything you'd recommend?

I've got Blue Moon figures and I'm really happy with them. Solid sculpts, good variety of poses (especially the Indians where, from memory, every figure is unique).

My collection is primarily made up using 15mm Essex Miniatures with a few Parkfield, Matchlock and Irregular Miniatures. I also have some Friekorps 15's which are nice but seem a little smaller and finer sculpts. If I was to start collecting now, I'd go with the range from Blue Moon. As blacksoilbill said, the variety of poses per pack and the terrain items are very appealing, especially if you're playing skirmish games. I did consider replacing my collection when they were first released.

No, I haven't found any 15mm versions.

They're not a history of the war, but I would recommend a set of books I bought many years ago titled 'Sketchbook 56 series by Ted Spring'.
They were mentioned by Herb Gundt of HG Walls, in an article in Wargames Illustrated where he scratch built an American Indian Longhouse. The books are around A4 size and the artwork may not be the finest (in the words of Herb, “amateurish done”), but they are packed full of useful information and are well worth the cost, especially the Indian Allies title if you can find it.
Here are the links to the six books in the series =
1: Roger’s Rangers
2: French Marines
3: The Highlanders and Provincial Rangers
4: Spanish Colonial Infantry 1739-1781
5: The Women of the French War era
6: Indian Allies
This is where I bought them from - https://www.trackofthewolf.com/parts/detail/2719/1/book-sb56v2
Unfortunately, only the French Marines, Spanish Colonial Infantry and The Women of the French War era are the only titles in stock. I did find them stock at other retailers like this one. I have also seen them on eBay from time to time. This will give you an idea of the contents.
