Title: Soviet nurses of the 1980s.
Post by: Kourtchatovium104 on July 05, 2025, 03:10:44 PM
Hello!

I'm looking for suitable heads to convert some minis into soviet nurses (1980s), with their specific hats.

Does someone have an idea?

Here are some pictures from the soviet movie The needle (1988).

Not really, but they do sort of look like old chef's hats, not sure in miniature though  :(

Not sure about a specific head but could you convert a shako head to this type of tall hat?
Also - have a look at other pictures of the era, it's not universal; some Soviet nurses have even taller hats, some have rounded hats almost like skull-caps, and others wear your hat but pushed down and back in almost a beret shape.

Not the advice you are looking for, but these are perfect for trying green stuff conversions. Put a small ball on and shape it. Make a dozen or so on some sprue ends for practice, and then it should be easy.

Indeed, that's a pretty simple putty fix. Even if you find a suitable miniature wearing a chef's hat the filing and puttying to get that shape is going to be as much if not more work than a simple blob of milliput worked into that shape.

In fact, this is a fairly primitive cloth in the vision of the cylinder.
This is not a uniform. This is the overalls of doctors who have not been regulated in any way. These are clothes that were made and delivered to any medical institutions.
But such a uniform could only be worn in the hospital. It was unlikely that this could be seen on the battlefield.

Thank you all for your interesting suggestions!

Cuprum: in fact, I’m thinking of a Twilight 2000 (Cold war going hot in Poland) scenario : one player has to
rescue (or kidnap maybe?) an injuried spy cured in a soviet hospital invaded by marauders. That's why I'm looking for civilian soviet nurses or doctors.

All this gives me ideas...  :)
