These custom Grungetroopers combine Anvil Industry heads, Kromlech torsos, and Stargrave arms and designed as a gritty fusion of Shoretroopers and Mimban Stormtroopers. In my personal game canon, they serve as an elite special operations unit tasked with escorting Inquisitors on high-risk missions.

Yay -- somebody else started this thread for July! Thanks, Simon. You guys are probably sick of seeing them from my other threads, but here are my scratch built TIE fighters. Finished them off in time for last night's game, which is updated on my thread on Future Wars.

Otherwise, here's my blog article on how I made them:

Another kitbash in the mix: Anvil Industry heads, Kromlech bodies, and Stargrave arms once again. This time, it’s a lone Mandalorian on a mission, pieced together from the same trusted parts.

Not a particular project or goal in mind when I painted up these 28mm Fishmen from Miniature Building Authority. Just kind of, "Hey, these look cool...!"
(https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizv5KzcDZmBASQfuybE2ogoETg8D5nfHYfVEzgkeUKUY4srCaerJnTtfqetFJTR7DY-ugLi46a8N1ioC0j0TXzNOOhzyrTQu2IVNSWmIg5va5hv5cekVKKqEYBg1v7psQ4PmnVIGGC5g-Tr4hliTVY3EXGUrSXqnBEs8_X1tSew0K7vKBCses4xKNvPbM/w640-h274/Fishmen01_Pair02.jpg)
That said, more likely than not they'll end up being part of my Tales of the Splintered Band solo Sellswords & Spellslingers campaign. For more photos and description of how I painted them, check out my Lead Legionaries blog:

Finally painted something this summer. Not happy with my temporary lighting for photo's but will have to address that later. Figures for a friends Alien RPG gaming.

Warmonger 10mm Gendarmes
Painted these up a good while ago, but didn't finish their basing off until recently - nice figures, a bit smaller and a lot more historical than the GW Warmaster Empire knights (which is my loose justification for needing yet more heavy cavalry!)

Stripy lances were less hassle than I expected - flag needs finishing - but need some inspiration on the design.

I finished up three more buildings for my 28mm Vietnam project. Two are 3-D printed Jungle Huts from Miniature Building Authority (same model, I think one was printed for 28mm and the other, slightly smaller one, for 20mm...maybe?
(https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhj83Pkm6xKRNqKJhyphenhyphenY7Th9Bh3RlFEfm0B27btsfohHdjW82fuGyaAzJkz6GDrfvuvdlR15jzQkksTI-rE7fV2lO5_XoaW_h77BvNGSfFQkF-CQL-_hIsPuaQvM0iPFdqWJr3NMhygHrPcGD1v_2YEIqyLFCIfIbdLYeCVT_ukhjaBxh4h6a8sgI-FY11Y/w640-h542/MBAViet2_NoodleHutFront.jpg)
My favorite of the three is a resin one from their Shanty Town range, the Noodle Hut. It looks slapped together and not out of place at all in rural Vietnam.

32 men, 7 horses = 39 pieces
Hoping there will be more before the months end but we shall just have to see what transpires. Figures are smaller 15 mm. figures found in 'the mountain' and of unknown origin other than part of a bag of 35 pounds of, mostly, unpainted figures bought a long time ago at a swap meet. The mounted unit might be from Freikorps.

Finished painting the first of my latest kitbashes this week. An Atlantic Cannon Fodder body paired with Stargrave head, arms, and gear. The varnish may have dried too fast in the heat, giving it a slightly washed-out finish.

I finished these fellows (as well as some movement trays) on Saturday. Pretty big-standard early medieval infantry, but they saw action in a Midgard game on Sunday and performed well, so I’m happy with them!

Jungle Tribe for pulp games in Conjuras:
42 sculpts representing 51 'noses'. 9 of the unarmed women villagers are sculpted with either a child in arms or a standing child at their side clinging to it's mom. With 39 posted earlier, I am now up to 81 figures (15 mm) painted this month - so far. Small chance I might get a few more done before the month runs out.

Just purchased these the previous weekend at Historicon and they're ready for the tabletop already! A trio of 3-D printed Star Wars buildings from Diabolical Terrain's "Tatooie" line.
I really like these as they are so quick and easy to prep for the tabletop.
(https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdSpnZHIRsLoevPx64GnKhWG75xMZ_k-nUBM9Wb807D2gdTWuHMO9QEN8-T17zHiIaSf_CQmhHhqfNn9lkDkMLKYmITlJvBD1uNhaP8dWJawlZhUFtYqVSo_iuq8Jf1UwO6La-DhrYYg06FLq_BeTEl-H4kZSLSMibAioc2J-Qz8dNOC5a_lQARZ-9_As/w640-h374/CorkMarkers_WithFigs.jpg)
I also made up some markers for my Star Wars skirmishes using Space Weirdos rules. I am a big fan of any markers on the tabletop appearing as scenery and blending in with the look of the board. I found some 1/2" diameter adhesive-back cork pads that attached perfectly to washers of the same size. Also easy to make up (I did a batch of 24 and will do another set of them soon).
Check out how I painted the buildings and created the markers on my Lead Legionaries blog here:

Got more done than I realistically hoped for, thought I'd maybe get 8 more done but I managed to get 27 done so I am now at 108 for the month. Robin Hood groupings: Little John, Friar Tuck, and Will Scarlet (or Scarlock). Tuck gets an extra stand of three figures.
