Title: Scream... Aim, Fire!
Post by: Harry Faversham on 18 July 2025, 05:41:46 PM
Found a copy of these rools in the Emporium. They look daft enough, to really enjoy!
First try, Veteran Tommy Paras, holding the perimeter. It's points based and Veterans are expensive. So many Germans will be arriving. Table set up tommorow, game on Sunday.
Anyone had a go with these rules?

An idyllic, peaceful scene in Holland, just North of the Rhine. But, a closer peruse says, maybe not?

Battle is joined!
The Germans push for ward with plenty of dash, Their halftack leading the way. The British Occifer Commanding is staggered as his forward Section flees their hard cover.* Thankfully this a temporary state of affairs, remedied with a couple of rallying blasts of his hunting horn! A PIAT is deployed, but the first bomb goes wild. The Germans have a few problems of their own, as their right flank unit hugs the hedgerows. Their mortar, slow to deploy. A close range firefight develops. I'm irked to find the German's senior NCO is a Sergeant Steiner type fellow. Rallying off 'suppression points' faster than I can put 'em on!

Interesting.  THAT is close quarters combat.

I wonder who will prevail?

Never been a fan of those movement tray/sabot thingies.  To me, an old tanker, a sabot is something you kill an enemy tank with.

Like how it looks with just the figures.  Waiting to see if our brave Paras pull off a win...

'Combat Ready' chart might be useful, for solo games?

Hmm.  I'll have to take another gander at 'em.  Luckily. I have a weekly gaming group, so solo gaming isn't a big deal for me....

Those Paras look the part.

Thanks Ash, praise indeed coming from a painter of your calibre. Wish I could bask in the glory... but Cubs painted 'em!
