Title: The Work of Brian Rigelsford
Post by: Paul Richardson on 25 July 2025, 12:25:54 PM
Brian Rigelsford's work has featured quite frequently on this forum. He specialises in the TYW and ECW. Usually, he will take a TYW or an ECW casting and he'll convert it into a different TYW or ECW figure. He might swap a head, swap an arm or sculpt a new one, put a torso on different legs or convert an infantryman into a cavalryman or vice versa. But Brian will also take a casting from another period and make it into a TYW or an ECW figure, and I thought you might be interested in the attached photos which show two examples Brian is currently working on. The left hand figures are, of course, the originals and they come from Foundry pack FS008, Frank or Saxon Raiding Party. The right hand figures are work in progress, but show how Brian works. I hope you like them.

What a talent…not only to convert but to spot the potential…awesome

Roo: I think that's exactly right. It's the talent to spot the potential which really sets Brian apart.

Shame he stopped sculpting ranges all those years ago.

Always had time for a chat, he was a nice guy…

Wonderful to see - I have long admired the figures / vignettes when someone posts they were done by Brian.  So it is great to see what is behind them

Sir Royston: he still is :D

I can believe that, but sadly I’ll have to take your word for that - he is a bit of a wargaming recluse..
