We've resumed our entertaining games of battles between our different warlord factions using the new edition of Chain of Command. The pile in rules for close combat get vicious in the new edition... but when you run out of ammo its time to get stuck in. I've asked Ara from Mana Press to put our Army List for the era on their webshop as a free download, if anyone is interested.

Thanks. Just downloaded. This may help re-kindle my "Back of Beyond" gaming as many of my mates play CofC

Also just downloaded. Thanks for this, CoC is our rules set of choice and this gave some interesting ideas.
I'm keen to have lists for other factions in this space such as Red Russians, White Russians, Japanese etc.
How did you go about costing up forces and options? I feel it would be hard to make balanced lists with national characteriatics that feel flavourful.

Well we currently have the one list that covers a generic Warlord army platoon. National Characteristics are primarily an ability to customise experience levels of a unit and upgrade sections to specialised roles (costed from the Coculator), to make platoons varied from each other. Support options are based on comparable lists of other armies of the era ( Abyssinia and Espania).
We're currently looking at the different revolutionary Russian forces of the time (as we have a few players in our wider gaming group with these forces). I'm not sure whether existing Japanese lists represent the early army compositions that would suit the era.
