Hi,
A long time ago I half watched someone alter some Gripping Beast figures into some eastern european pagans. I was painting at the time and didn't pay enough attention as to who made the video and what he was actually doing. Was this a fever dream or does this video actually exist? My Google searches are turning up some very interesting results but very little related to wargaming!
Thanks for any pointers-its a strange world out there.

Gripping beast make Baltic pagans; could it be those? They would make decent Slavs. Or stick some Byzantine style shields & heads onto their plastic dark age warriors…
Not heard of your fever video, sorry.

Thanks Frank (fever video-like that). I'm pretty sure the guy converted some dark age cavalry and warriors, its a few years ago and the video may have been removed now... I hadn't realised Gripping Beast did Pagans so I will have a look but I was hoping to keep almost everything plastic due to cost.

Well that took some finding! It was actually on the excellent The Activation Phase Youtube channel. If anyone has done this conversion I would like to see it, as a mere mortal I am hesitant to start.

That looks like an interesting conversion.

Feel brave to start. Kitbashing is very funny. I have still my conflicts with the Greenstuff but it's getting better with more trials :)

I made some slightly less involved and less historically accurate conversions by combining Victrix Pagan Rus and Norman Cavalry kits:

Edit: Oh, and I guess they in fact ride Perry horses. I must have used my Victrix horses elsewhere.....

Oh Ogrob they are nice. I have the greenstuff on standby but have only ever filled gaps with it. I see what people can do on here and despite a lifetime of wargaming can feel like a newbie.
