I have just recently gotten Wessex Games' Aeronef rules and The Aeronef Captain's Handbook in PDF.
I plan on scratch building many of my craft. I'd like to ask the advice of gamers that have played the game for the relative size I should use? No 25-28mm stuff! I'm going with the 1/1200th scale!
What I"m looking for is information on about how long (lengthwise) would you make each hull/ship type in mm, cm , or inches. I want my scratch built vessels for be field able with the 1/1200th vessel ranges.
Class 1 = Lumbering Leviathans/Dreadnoughts
Class 2 = Cruisers
Class 3 = Destroyers
Class 4 = Frigates
Class 5 = Yachts & light Patrol Craft
I like the Vessel Classes... They remind me of the "Rates" of the old sailing ship ages.
I also have liked what I've read in the rules! Being a fan of Full Thrust I know the game will run easy, smoothly, and quickly.
I'm looking forward to getting started on my ships and playing a game.

I've just purchased the British-French starter pack from Brigade Models (unfortunately it hasn't arrived yet or I'd give you more definitive answers) and I noticed that most of the ships available on their site give at least some indication of their dimensions. Otherwise it's 0.254mm to the foot. I took the dimensions of a few pre-dreadnoughts off wikipedia and they ended up between 80-90mm long. Hope that helps. :)
I can't wait to see you're scratchbuilt ships, i've a real urge to have a go at building some myself, now I just need to wait for my order to arrive.

dampfpanzerwagon could be your man for this scale, I'm sure he'll be along shortly. In the meantime his blog might help:

Thunderchicken has included the link. I'm not sure I can add anything as most of the information and links are detailed under either Aeronef of Space1889/Aeronef on my Blog.
My preferred scales are 1/300th and 1/600th, see posts.
