Has anyone else heard about this upcoming BBC retelling of the Norman invasion of 1066?

A great cast (Eddie Marsan will basically steal every scene), and obviously a fantastic and engaging story about a hugely important period of history. I hope.
It won't be though will it? I'm already disturbed by the costuming decisions in some stills I have seen. Saxon warriors dressed more like sub-Romans in leather armour....

I want it to be good, I really do, but my little black heart knows I'm going to be disappointed. :?

No, it won't be.
That's because it's not made for the likes of you and me.
It's made for those who want something different to watch inbetween Get Me Out Of Here and Ant & Dec.
That's who it's aimed at.
But that doesn't mean you can't enjoy it. Just don't go into it expecting history and you'll do fine.

Well, bugger. ::)
Mods, feel free to lock or merge as appropriate.
Slinks away feeling mildly relived that he hadn't already posted on AEG's thread...
