Had a great time with a new scenario for the Siege of Petersburg. That's right, not just the Battle of the Crater (notwithstanding my misleading topic title, sorry) - the whole 9 months of siege. We played it through to a conclusion twice in 5 hours and had two really good and very different games. Lots to say about this, so I've said it all on the BBBBlog. I hope some of my fellow LAFers find it interesting:

This is truly amazing, nine months of combat played twice in under 5 hours. When I first discovered miniatures gaming, rules were always based on the amount a unit could perform in perhaps a minute, with extra time added on for delays. The first set of rules that allowed unengaged units to move at 2 mph or so was Volley & Bayonet.
But you have really stretched the time-space thing, with a game of the Petersburg siege. Kudos!
I will have to mark up a mat for that and get it on the table when I return from my northern expedition.
