Title: Has anyone used Col Mustard from the Clue board game?
Post by: Puuka on December 16, 2009, 10:52:57 PM
So, these seem close to 28mm

Not sure how people feel about the semi "Cartoonish-ness" of the figures though.

Just found out that you can order these on their own from Hasbro

Much more fun.   :)

Well, I recognize Col. Mustard(Frothers), but who makes the rest of them?

BTW...  Nicely done! :)

Ooo! Now that's inspired!

Reminds me of using 20mm Germans and British as Guards and Prisoners in the Escape From Colditz board game when I were but a wee nipper...

Peacock and Scarlett - Pulp Figures.

Green and White - Artizan - Thrilling Tales range.

Plum - RAFM's  Call of Cthulhu

Quite nicely done. Bravo!

Very cool. I like that you made Mustard a short rotund individual rather than the well aged explorer.

I bought them, but they are just too big compared to all of my other 28mm figures.  Out of scale.  Not tempted to use 'em.

In the early nineties, I was involved with Waddingtons in producing a "Super Cluedo" game. It was a variant on traditional Cluedo and comprised a version of the game designed by Nick Lund with pewter miniatures sculpted by Mark Copplestone.

The game was carried on for a while when Hasbro took over Waddingtons but eventually dropped. So,
if you're lucky, you may find some Copplestone designed Cluedo figures kicking around, maybe on ebay.

I may even have some photos somewhere - if I find them, I'll scan and post them here.

Thanks for the info, Doug, very intriguing... and very nice too, if these are the right figures  ;)

I can hopefully confirm all the figures in the near future as on the back of this I took a punt on a set from ebay. £5 for 12 figs has got to be a bargain. :)

In fact - why didn't I think of it before - they would be ideal for the 30s era game setting i'm working on....!

Must have a good look round the garage and see if I've still got a set or two myself..

You, little devil ! I checked but couldn't find such a cheap lot  :( Probably another "post to UK" only, but I don't want to "play with the mail" actually  ;)

I guess the price will grow slightly higher in the following days...

It actually was £5.50 and only 9 figures but still a bargain.

Here is the full set

And a size comparison shot

I am rather happy with these and I got a new Cluedo game to play also.

They look great.   :)

Might look out for a set myself.  Worth buying for the Colonel alone.

There is another set on Ebay currently for 8.95 plus postage:

Sounds good? Yes, I was tempted myself, but in a strangely mood I just asked myself, when the heck I would paint them after all the others waiting ... Must be some kind of silly Xmas illness  o_o
