Title: What is your LAF downtime plan?
Post by: FifteensAway on September 07, 2025, 05:49:56 PM
With perhaps a week without LAF to distract us from our hobby projects, what is your plan of accomplishments for that time?  Mine is to move forward with my 15 mm pulp figures for game in November.  Maybe double the number of figures painted but who knows, real life is intruding as well.

We can post our success (or failures  :'() on the far side when LAF is back and better than before.

"See" you all on the far side of the transition.

...ground control to Major Tom...

Well I've made a start on some Voidfighter terrain so my plan is to finish some of those, get some fighters rebased and finished, and actually be able to show off a painted table for once!  lol

I have some figures to paint and some learning bolt Action to do on the tabletop.
Plus, packing for a trip to the US.

I have no idea really, honestly, but I am going to try and get my Terminators that I purchased from Doug (Ex-EM4) earlier this year, finished, but alas my painting Mojo vanished this summer like Citadel paint dries in those stupid paint pots  >:( lol.

Take care everyone, see you on the other-side (as long as there are no "I am sorry Dave, but I can not do that!" moments).

Continue building my way through my Sprue Jungle.
Paint some vintage Garrison Roman slingers I got on ebay - they are a bit slight of build but they will still join my auxiliaries.

Just continuing with painting and building.

Not having LAF to distract me means I may not disappear down quite so many rabbit holes next week lol Stil, I feel it's going to be a looong week.

I use LAF while at work when I get stuck on a problem and need to distract myself to let my mind mull the issue. I could actually end up less productive at work - did the mods fully consider all the consequences when they concocted this crazy plan o_o lol o_o

Try to paint some figures (...but I always say that)

...also I need to imagine simple Argad scenarios on smaller terrain than usual, I always like to go for very large tables, now there are some people in my village who would like to try the rules in smaller rooms.

Just continue not painting or building, probably...

But I may check these recently arrived Old School Miniatures miniatures more closely. :)

Huh.  I was thinking it means I'll have more computer time for rabbit holing....

Hoping to finish touch-up painting and rebasing on a pair of DBA Gepid armies for next weekend.  Set back on schedule for that with lost painting time this weekend; sinuses and eyes too bugged out with a first (and fortunately mild) case of covid.  Today is better than yesterday, hoping eyes will be fully functional tomorrow.

Also finishing up the scenic bases for a Japanese house or two that I was aiming to have ready for a [had to cancel] Test of Honour game today.

Busy week for me. I ran "Skirmish at Jumonville Glen" at a local historical museum today, then there's a game day at a brewpub on Saturday. So, prepping/writing AARs for those two. And then I reallyl want to somehow squeeze in another playtest of my Vietnam rules.

Painting-wise, I'm working on two warlord stands (3 figures each) for the two Saga tournaments at our chapter's gaming convention in October. For those missing a LAF-style fix of AARs and painting updates, you can check out my Lead Legionaries blog. I'll be reporting on all of the above, and update regularly -- typically a dozen updates a month.

Well, I hope the Reaper forums will be up before LAF goes down because I have a thread I'm posting there! :P

Also, playing through my Descent 2nd edition game -- finally. Only 29 years old and I finally get to the base game campaign.

To get my painting room and process more organised in the vain hope of producing stuff of the standard that I see regularly on LAF.

Stay safe guys. See you on the other side.

I will try to find more time to actually paint. But chances are that I'll just be thinking about cool projects.

Considering I do most of my LAFing at work, I'm afraid I'll have no choice but actually work some more...  lol

Well we are back, whoop, whoop :D

I did make some progress, I got my Jaq Draco Terminator 95% finished just the base to finish and a lot of other Salute purchases that were languishing nearly done to the same state as Jaq. I also got my 3d printed Union dropship assembled and painted but still to finish off but I am going to try getting one printed at 50% larger  ;) :D

Welcome back everybody :-*
