'Der Tiger', new Amazon offering, they're comparing it to 'Das Boot'...
in a big tank!

Looks like the thumbnail image was mirrored; the commander's hatch is flipped also...

I’m guessing it’s a long film: one hour of exciting operation/action then you’re watching ten hours of maintenance and repairs - let’s hope the colonel is nearby!  lol

Tom wins the life sized inflatable Tiger tank!
Good news the dustbin moves to the proper side in the trailer.

I just watched the comments of Panzermuseum in Munster who were advising (Bovington and several German military experts did too).
The movie is said to be an acceptable compromise between storytelling and historical accuracy. Conclusion is that it’s worth to see it on the big screen and not to be biased by negative comments based on opinions about the trailer.

At least it’s not Sisu - a potentially great film (slightly) ruined (for me) by the lack of effort representing the secondary main character: the Cold War Russian ersatz stug! (Why couldn’t they just have made a reasonable looking superstructure to go on top of the tank they used? Doesn’t have to be perfect just look like you care!). At least that won’t happen again…. (watches Sisu 2 trailer and sees the PSH-77/Altyn style helmets on the motorcycle riders………)  lol

I’ve added some bracketed qualifiers in italics as my original post made it sound like I didn’t enjoy the film as much as I did.

I've watched and enjoyed Sisu, but as the over the top action flick it is, as opposed to it being a historically correct documentary (then again; maybe it was :D ). Props and vehicles are representative to me, just like the improperly scaled and proportioned miniatures we use on the tabletop ;)

This looks harmless, and its a long time since I've watched anything with a pseudo Tiger in it soooo...

@Daeothar:
How dare you sir! My 1:100 tanks are the exact scale for my 15mm chaps surrounded by my weird stunted trees, using guns with a 20ft effective range. This isn’t sci-fi gaming you know …….. :D

I do agree, it was a fun film and I did enjoy it. And I’ll watch and enjoy the second I don’t doubt. I just thought it was a shame to put so much passion into a piece of work but not even try and do something to make it look closer to what it was representing (and it didn’t really ever come over as actual laziness but rather practicality and budget driven). It’s not like there are working WW2 tanks in every back yard. Hmm….. Off to build an mdf stug shell for my Octavia and rent it out to Hollywood!  lol

@Harry Faversham: thank you for posting about this as I hadn’t seen or heard anything about it and I shall look forward to it.

Das Boot on tracks?  lol

If you think a sub smells bad inside, try living in a tank. It’s … more primitive  lol

I’ll look for it, whatever, I cancelled Disney+ today for (redacted reasons, wink, read through Reddit to figure it out).

I’ll keep an eye out for it.  It will have errors, they all do.  But it’s got to be better than Fury.  That one was just awful….marvel in a tank….

Trust me nothing smells like a submarine. The unofficial motto is,"We come unclean".

'Ti's true. Coming home my mate would leave his Pussers Grip, at the bottom of the garden for a couple of days. Then fetch it in and wash his kit, twice...
and you could still smell it!

Next watch "White Tiger" and compare.  o_o

IMDB: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2318405/ (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2318405/)

It gets a bit surreal in parts and I think the ending might be from a different movie.  ;D
