Title: river features
Post by: anevilgiraffe on 29 September 2025, 07:39:14 PM
I'm working on a bridge to go with my side of table river (here (https://anevilgiraffe.blogspot.com/2011/05/river-wip.html)) and water mill (here (https://anevilgiraffe.blogspot.com/2019/08/miller-time.html)) and just before I tackle the water (which will invariably mean redoing the water on the watermill and the 3 river sections), I should see if I need to do any further sections...

so suggestions please for any suitable add ons that would work for a wide/estuarine river bank of any period really, although as you can see, it's rural and temperate at least... I'm not averse to brickwork docks or anything, it's just the slope need gets in the way.

I'm thinking maybe a slipway or a ford... thoughts?

Pilings from an old pier, maybe:

Fuel barge (but you would probably need to build a dock then):

Or how about an old abandoned boat:

I've a wooden dock area (the wider river with a small optional pier that sticks out already). I reckon a smaller wooden bridge might be a good thought...
