For as long as I can remember I have been using Tamiya glue for assembling my plastic models and terrain. Recently I have been reacting to the smell or the solvents in it and it has been making me nauseous. Rattle can primer has been doing the same thing but I have a solution for that.
Is there a good plastic glue that doesn't emit the same volume of solvent that Tamiya does?

I am no scientist but if you're using the thin Tamiya which evaporates/dries really quickly, I have to imagine that would be more fume-heavy than a slightly thicker model cement? Something like a Testors/Model Masters/Conecta glue?
However, in general...I've never used any plastic glue that doesn't stink.

Revell glue in tubes. It's thick, so doesn't run, but will take very long to dry. It contains the same solvent, but it evaporates more slowly.
Polystyrene cement is always solvent based, no matter what hydrocarbon solution is used, so perhaps start using other types of glue like cyanoacrylate or PVA?
Acrylic paints in rattlecans should not contain any solvents or flammable gas these days; don't use solvent based paints.
But no matter what; ventilate your room at any rate!

personaly for my plastic figures and models I use tamiya limonene cement. Smells lemon.

I always think basic Tamiya smells of pineapple...

Testors makes a non-toxic version of their tube cement, which I think was aimed at deterring kids from sniffing it. I think it has some other substance replacing the usual solvent. It has long had the reputation of being not as good at sticking things together, however.

the tamiya lemonene cement is non toxic too. And works like a charm. You can find diferent versions of it, by the way (extra thin, etc...).And it smells good.

You know people put plastic glue in paper bags, and then huff them, right? lol That “nauseous” feeling is your brain cells literally dying, and you’re getting “high”. Don’t fight it. Just drift, amigo.
Honestly though, I use superglue for plastics, as it’s not toxic for my brain.

Once tried it, looked a right twat sat in A&E, with a plazzy bag glued to mi' snotbox!

My father set me up in the attic with a tube of polystyrene cement, some Revell paint tins, a mustard jar filled with terpentine and a stack of plastic model kits in the summer I became 10 to teach me about patience and the joys of having a 'proper' hobby.
Never looked back since; plastic model kits have always been my soft spot to this day. Also; the terpentine and toluene fumes have not resulted in dainbramage at all...

Honestly though, I use superglue for plastics, as it’s not toxic for my brain.
Its fumes irritatie mucous membrane though.

Superglue fumes got to me to the point where I'd get a massive sinus headache from using them :'( I gave all my old tubes to my brother-in-law.
I did find some odourless makes, namely Roket and Bostik, so there are options out there. However, I find they don't last as long as the regular ones, turning to syrup and then pudding in a few months - sometimes even without being opened.
For polystyrene cememnt, I use the blue Revell bottle with the needle. So far, I'm okay with those fumes, but I will look for the lemmon stuff the next time I'm in my flgs.

Cheaper than building and staffing a youth centre. Sometimes the private sector can do stuff more efficiently. ;)

Have a look at Plastic Glue deluxe by Rocket. It is a non-toxic low odour product. I find it slightly slower than revell to bond, but the bond is good. I have similar glue problems to you and when possible glue outside or at the garage doorway.

I think you mean Plastic Magic by Deluxe Materials, who make Rokit super glue. I've used the plastic glue and found it effective, but switched to Tamiya Extra Thin Cement after finding the DM product, for some reason, utterly hopeless for making sprue goo, which I now find indispensable. Rather than the paste I was looking for, dissolving sprue in PM resulted in a rubbery blob that is almost impossible to extract from the jar and, if extracted, has no use I can think of. On its own, however, the glue is fine, if not as fast-acting as Tamiya Extra Thin.
