Title: Last Stand at Isandhlwana
Post by: Priest on 18 December 2009, 04:56:43 PM
I'm starting, after years of refusal, to get into the Zulu War. Got this vignette from Empress, beautifull and moving. The base needs thinking about, maybe some bits and pieces including a Zulu shield, hmm...

looks like a lovely job on a great sculpt but the pic is too small to totally enjoy it.

Here's the picture again, hopefully big enough to see.

Well done! I think you are on the right track about basing. A shield and maybe even an assegi sticking out of the ground would help fill up the dead space.

and some casualties

after all it is in the final phase...

Thanks all.
The base certainly needs thinking about, at the moment I'm plumping for debris rather than dead bodies. Too many figs, dead or otherwise, would, IMHO, detract from the subject, but I do agree that a shield, asegai, ammo crates and helmets might do the trick.

Very nice painting.  Great blonde hair, I find that so hard to do.  Well done!
