Title: Getting that British Look
Post by: Trooper on December 21, 2009, 04:03:59 PM: I thought this might be of interest to British Civil War gamers, or even anyone doing Sealion/Invasion 1940 stuff. They are from the Hornby Scaledale range. They are not cheap, the street signs being a tenner, and the phone boxes about a fiver, but they give that essentially British look to terrain. First off a couple of pics of the traffic signs, with a Foundry Policeman for scale, and then a couple of shots of the pieces in situ.

They all come ready for use, all I had to do was base the traffic signs, which I did on penny coins.

Also there is a sale on just now though only on selected items.
Just make sure your not buying the N scale stuff.

The signs and phone boxes are designed for oo gauge railways, and the car is slightly larger than other diecasts I am using, but it is Jeeves and Wooster's motor so I indulge the slight scale disparity. The phone box does look a tad too small with the car, but in the flesh it does not look so bad.

However it's down to individual taste and in lieu of 28mm stuff it's better than nothing. The scaledale range is quite comphrehensive and I've been wondering how well it would suit 15mm....
