I thought this might be of interest to British Civil War gamers, or even anyone doing Sealion/Invasion 1940 stuff. They are from the Hornby Scaledale range. They are not cheap, the street signs being a tenner, and the phone boxes about a fiver, but they give that essentially British look to terrain. First off a couple of pics of the traffic signs, with a Foundry Policeman for scale, and then a couple of shots of the pieces in situ.

They all come ready for use, all I had to do was base the traffic signs, which I did on penny coins.

:-* :-* That's awesome!!

Ive got a load of Hornby stuff that I use for IWI and twilight 2000 games. They have some great bits and bobs especially some nice industrial buildings,
Also there is a sale on just now though only on selected items.
Just make sure your not buying the N scale stuff.

I forgot to mention Harburn hobbies in Edinburgh produce similar items but from a more Scottish angle.

Fantastic stuff...

Is it just me, or does that phone box look way too small? The signs look slightly out of scale, too.
Your table is fantastic, however.

If the car is diecast it's probably 1/43 - so the car would be more out of scale than the call box.
-
Yes I confess there is a bit of scale creep going on here. The signs and phone boxes are designed for oo gauge railways, and the car is slightly larger than other diecasts I am using, but it is Jeeves and Wooster's motor so I indulge the slight scale disparity. The phone box does look a tad too small with the car, but in the flesh it does not look so bad.

While modern road signs are larger than their 30's equivalents, these do look a tad too small with 28mm figures still imo. However it's down to individual taste and in lieu of 28mm stuff it's better than nothing. The scaledale range is quite comphrehensive and I've been wondering how well it would suit 15mm....

Had a look at these signs in the local Hobbycraft store. Nice but a bit expensive IMHO for what you get.
-
Agreed Martin, they are not cheap, but you only have to buy them once and 12 in a pack ain't bad.

It might be worth watching out for a model railway show - they usually seem to have second hand stalls where you can pick up the occasional bargain (especially damaged pieces)
