Back into the swing of things with some nice quick Copplestone Grey Aliens. Can't really do them wrong can you?
And after finishing most of the pack

You are of course left with the sitting down one. What to do with him?
Well, obviously it was a sign that I should try my hand at some scratchbuilding (first time, yay!). Inspired by several people on the forum, can't remember all your names, but props to you all. You know who you are.

(You are all liars, by the way. Plasticard is not easy to work with, and I have the scars in my thumbs to prove it, you miserable twisters.)
Anyway, that gives the little blighters some heavy support, either a plasma cannon or some kind of industrial strength probe, I'm not sure which.
Group shot!

C&C welcome as always.
Cheers!

Luvvvvverly stuff JB :)
Great looking scratchbuild too. ;D
Can't comment on probe sizes (Thats more Svennn's dept) but it looks like a large one... :o
-
Cracking!
-
Take me to you leader!....err by the state of things you'd better not. Haha. Great stuff. :D
-
Not only do I open the thread to find nothing humourous although promised in the title but I am personally insulted as well >:(
Nice work JB. Particularly like the dome - bet Mallamullet is very jealous of that as it will not need polishing as often as his ;D

Probe envy to dome wax in only four replies! Must be a record! lol

This is astoundingly good and I'm going to have to copy it at my earliest convenience.
I wish I could hate you for coming up with this before I did, but I really can't.

The grey chappie to the far left is not very hitech, is he? He seems to be performing rectal palpation old school.

Nice work JB especially on the cereal packet spaceship. ;)

Nice work JB. I really would like to see Copplestone add one or two packs to this one⦠Nice, "classical" Greys ::)
-
Very nice indeed :)
-
The greys are brilliant, but that spacecraft is beyond description! Ultimate it is!!!
-
Very nice little saucer, and nice use of a plastic titan plasma cannon!
;)
-
Good stuff JollyBob. Look forward to seeing the farmers or whoever you decided will face this invasion.
...or some kind of industrial strength probe, ...
lol
-
Super minis and awesome little space ship!

So speaks Yoda eh? :D
UMMMMMMMMMM ULTIMATE IT IS!
lol

Hmm. I believe my wife would say that your aliens are trying to overcompensate for something, Bob;)
I think they're the bees knees, though.
But hey, I never told you plasticard was easy to work with. Blame these other Hanyaks. Indeed, those who claim that scratch building is "painless" shall be first against the wall when the revolution comes... well, in the line of "firsts" anyway. So many to short, so little time before the coming conflagration....
Incidentally, I got in too late to comment on your Egypt trip, but it goes without saying that I'm extraordinarily jealous in every conceivable way. You got to some amazing sites.
You bastard;)

Thanks everybody. :) I'm a lot happier with the saucer now its painted, cos it looked as rough as bull's lugs when it wasn't. In my head it makes "put-put-put" noises as it flies...
Doc, thanks for your comments. I'd heartily recommend a visit if you can manage it. :)

Very nice painting and scratschbuilding 8)

I'm thinking a little grabby claw underneath, (thinking old epic ork vehicle part) would look ace.
I'm thinking more of an electric plate spinning sound with wooooooooooowaaaaaaaaaawaaaaaaawoooooooooooo music in the background.
:)

I'm disappointed...
I was expecting pygmy elephants :D
-
quite excellent, makes me wish I had thought of something as clever as this :)

Lovely start into scratchbuilding, JollyBob, now on to the mothership ... ;)

I certainly doesnt look rough at all now, its fantastic. And its your first scratch build?! Brilliant.
More please :)
As I am sure many others are thinking, I will be ripping the idea off at some point soon. Thanks for sharing!

Heh, yeah, well, actually, so do I. Its a subconscious amalgamation of two other pieces I'd seen by Inso and Anevilgiraffe on Frothers. Can't claim any credit for originality, I'm afraid. o_o

Anevilgiraffe is great to nick ideas from - I've done that too! lol
This is great stuff and lots of fun. Makes me think I could probably do with a set of these greys for my Doctor Who stuff.
I think you need to replace your put-putting with a theremin though! ;)

fab! i love these little greys!
