Since everyone is showing off their buildings I thought I would show off the start of my Super Hero City. We (My wife and sons and I) are all painting mostly Plasticville buildings for our city. My wife and I like the old-timey aesthetic of the buildings and we have a local trainstore that always has a selection of used buildings on the cheap. None of these cost me more than $8 US. We will be using these mostly for Marvel SH RPG'ing (Old School TSR rules) and we have also used them for HeroClix games. Futre war and moderns are also an option with these buildings as they are pretty versatile. Sorry for the big (poor) pics.

We also have a church, a second gas station and a supermarket in progress. Tell me what you think.

Very very nice buildings!
Who makes the girl with the blue hair? She might work well with Matakishi's new project.
-
Very nice. I'd still like to get my hands on some Plasticville stuff.
I've got plans for a city of my own some day, inspired by Lonely Street in The Goon comics and other oddball places such as the city in El Superbeasto.
-
Really nice stuff there - kudos.
These are harder to come by in the UK, but there a couple of stockists. I have picked up the Diner, Frosty Bar, Cathedral (does very well as an old church) and Hangar (which I use as a small, low-level warehouse), and they are great for tabletop gaming.

I bought that girl at the Annual Toy Soldier show here in Atlanta. A game club had manuactured her in resin for a game they did. They had 2 left and I bought both. My wife painted one in pink and I did one in purple to serve as kind of evil twins or something. Very Obscure I'm afraid.

US EvilBay usually has pretty good deals on them and most will ship worldwide. They make terrain so much easier, as I only have to invest a couple hours of paint time to each. If you want new Plasticville kits, the catalog of 'O' scale is online here:
http://www.bachmanntrains.com/home-usa/products.php?page=0&act=viewCat&catId=187 (http://www.bachmanntrains.com/home-usa/products.php?page=0&act=viewCat&catId=187) If you have a railroad store near you they may be able to order the new kits for you as I don't think you can order direct from Bachmann.
I'll be using plasticville for a long time.
For those in the UK; K-line by Lionel also does a lot of vintage type kits very similar to Plasticville. They are also O scale:
Their website here:

When I searched for UK stockists I got this establishment:
TENNENT'S TRAINS
SHOP ONE, #130 HAGLEY ROAD
HAYLEY GREEN, HALESOWEN
W. MIDLANDS, B63-1DY
(121) 550-1266
Maybe this fellow can order for you, or has some in stock! They are good kits and easy like Plasticville.

Those buildings do look really lovely, nice work. In theory, I'm all for scratchbuilding terrain but in reality I'd buy these like a shot if I had the budget. My superheroes need somewhere that looks like the town in 'Back to the Future' to fight over...
Thanks for the info on suppliers too Doomsdave, Joroas; I might have to pop into Tennent's Trains next time I'm in Birmingham.

No leads on stockists in the Land Downunder? I'll have to track some down to mix in with my existing scratch-built and C&C Workshop stuff.

The Bank in particular looks great. I love the verdigris on the metal elements.
They give it a slightly pompous, overbearing look (in a good way) that is perfect for larger than life super hero battles in particular.
Do you have any pictures of a table set up ready to play?

Thanks for the comments. I will try to get some snaps of the table at our next game. The family and I usually play a couple of times a month. I will keep posting buildings in this thread as we finish them so you can see the progress.

Those are great looking buildings. I really like the painting. The bank is my favourite. It looks so Gotham City-like. Thanks for sharing.

Brilliant.
Even better is that you're still using the TSR MSH system - still a classic!
A friend and I adapted these for skirmish tabletop play and used them for years and years. I'd be happy to send them on.
-
Like it. Definately has a "superhero" feel to mit.

Definitely. Thanks! I was thinking of doing the same as the mechanics are straightforward and our RPG characters could be used for skirmish and vice versa, but alas; I am a lazy bugger. So you may save me a lot of time.
-
A skirmish conversion of the TSR Marvel rules? I'd like to see how you managed that. Sounds interesting.
-
I still have the starter from that game. I'd be interested to see how you converted it to skirmish too.
