Title: Wargames Illustrated CD's
Post by: cram on January 11, 2010, 06:42:33 PM
Are Wargames Illustrated CD's still avaliable does anybody know? As they are not being advertised on the new site. I've emailed WI to ask them, but not had a reply.

I'm after all the old Darkest Africa articles from around 10 years ago, I'm thinking that they were on disc 7, but I might be wrong?

thanks, Marc.

I may have that disc at home.  I'll check this evening.  I still need the first couple of CD's myself.  Considering they released a new disc three or four months back, somebody must be still producing them!

Sorry for the delay in getting back.  My 2 hour after-work nap (old guy!  ;) ) turned into a 6 hour sleep when the alarm failed to catch.

Looks like the articles go back to Volume 6 at least.  I'm just going by the couple of hardcopy mags I have from the period, at the moment.  I have CD's 4-8 to work with.  I don't mind extracting the pages as long as I know I'm working on the right ones! I presume you're referring to such as these by Chris Peers...

Warfare in the Age of Exploration, 1855-1876
Traders and Slavers in Nyasaland, 1887-1895
Belgians vs Arabs in the Congo, 1892-1894

or Howard Whitehouse?

Thnks for your help, Marc.

By the way the three Peers you have already listed would be great!

I already have Explorer Chic & The Azande: "The Zulus of the Congo" Part 1 & 2. I have no other articles though.

Okay, here's what I've dug up so far from CD6.  I think there's more in CD7 but that's at home.

By Chris Peers...

Belgians Versus Arabs in the Congo, 1892-94
In Darkest Africa (2 parts)
In the Heart of Africa (4 parts)
Splendid Fellows - A Masai Army for Darkest Africa
Traders and Slavers in Nyasaland, 1887 to 1895 (2 parts)
Warfare in the Age of Exploration, 1855-1876 (3 parts)

By Howard Whitehouse

Explorer Chic

By Mark Copplestone

Masai (1 page colour guide)

By Ian Knight

Cape Frontier Wars

Just PM me your requests and leave me an email address and I'll take care of it when I get home.  I'll check the other CD too and post my findings.

@ Belgian If you're interested, just PM me your email as well.

Cheers,
Mike
