Title: You got to help me. (cork issues)
Post by: Smokeyrone on January 11, 2010, 07:37:52 PM

(Thread title is  an old Sonny Boy Williamson tune I used to play in church when they ley me play blues once a month, Svenn's Flying V makes me think of blues riffs when I think of terrain now)  )

I have six, 2x4 foot  sections of half inch thick cork  (Home Depot closed them out at FITTY, yes FITTY CENTS a piece a few years ago)   They are just taking up space.

What can I build out of them?  I make buildings from foam core, so 'kishi's cork buildings are out.  Any other uses?

Thanks.

Piles of rocks. Stack 'em tall and hack 'em to pieces.

What sort of thing are you looking to make? You could make a wacky park of modern statuary with cork...

Just brilliant, matikishi!  I love that tutorial!

Thanks!

Yeah, I was reluctant to use my precious cork for fear that something really neat would come up, but if they sit for more than two years, ya gotta use them, right?

Question, does it sand?  Or is the smooth edges the work of craftsmanship at the electric saw table?

That's how it cuts. You can sand it if you want but it's a lot of effort for not much gain.
