Title: My Pirate-y Blog thingy.
Post by: Astor on 15 January 2010, 11:21:09 PM

I thought it was about time I got in on this blogging craze.  :D

Nothing terribly exciting so far (it's only been up a day, after all), but I hope to update it with all sorts of things (not just LOTHS, but that's the main focus for now).

I have modified the original template, as I noticed that the style template i'd chosen appears to be incredibly popular with wargaming bloggers - it's like we've claimed it as our own!  :)

Very nice indeed so far!  You have a style that resembles Capt. Bloods', and this is never bad!  ;)

The blog looks splendid, and the figures look very tidy too.

Thanks for the kind words, guys. I'd wanted to change the style to something more pirate-ish, but couldn't figure out how to do it at first, but after seeing nearly every other 18th century wargaming blog using the same template i'd chosen, I worked it out and replaced the background with the current one (which is an image from a fansite kit for the video game East India Company )

At the moment, updates are when I can, but i'll try to work out a more regular schedule.

Thanks for the link on the footer of your first post but it doesn't work - it has some extra characters that you'll need to delete:

http://%22http//astorspirates.blogspot.com%22

Also, a lot of LAFers with websites, blogs etc have a link via the 'globe' symbol in the user name box to the left of their posts.  If you set this up on your forum profile then there'll be a blog link from every post you make (whereas the footer link only appears on your first post on a page).

Hope this all makes sense and is helpful.   ;) :)

D'oh! Thanks for pointing that out, Silent Invader. I really should have checked it out after adding it.  ;D

And i've added those details to my profile as well.

Indeed!  This is a fantastic start to what appears to be a great blog!  I will be following it as well.

I really like your marines and officers.  You have a really nice painting style, and the troops look great.  I think you will need some nasty pirates or privateers to chase, mate.

YARRR!
