I'm not sure what sort of "era" this would be, but, I just saw this movie, and I think it would be an awesome setting for a skirmish. The colorful and interesting characters would be fun to create.

It's one of those "Story within a story" type movies where a suicidal stunt man is a patient at the same hospital as a young girl who broke her arm. He tells her this story that keeps her coming back and you see her interpretation of it. It's done by Tarsem Singh, who also created the movie The Cell.
The film is a little on the artsy side and the characters are interesting. The main "warband" would be the following characters:

L-R - "An African Slave", Luigi the Explosives expert, The Blue Bandit, "The Indian", and Charles Darwin. If you wanted to fill out the team a little, you could put in the Mystic, Alexandria as a "Mini Bandit" and Darwin's pet monkey
As for the Villains, You have the evil Governor Odious and his army of minions

Does anyone know of any figures that have a coat and a bowler hat? If the cloak has a "long hair" texture to it even better.

Ah, that IS a grand film - lovely filming, good story, and as colourful as it gets.
Darwin is grand :D
