Title: Alamo at Cancon 2010
Post by: Helen on January 24, 2010, 07:57:09 PM
Hi Guys,

Greg Blake put on an Alamo public participation game held at Cancon in Canberra, Australia.

Cancon is Australia's premier gaming convention held at the end of January of each year.

Greg Blake is also a miniature designer in which he has designed his own ranges.

Saturday, I noticed from Michael and Nick's stand the Mexicans on the battlements. Seems it was happening all over again on Sunday in which I took the photos.

I didn't game at all, but I believe it's Greg's own rules that he used.

Sorry, I should have asked at the time.

Thanks Helen, that's a nice looking set up of the Alamo.

(Malamute, are you SURE you don't want to make one?  ;))

That's something I definitely should make the trip out to... and Canberra isn't that far anyway. What other gaming stuff goes on there? I imagined it to be mostly GW and Warmachine stuff... looks good so far!

Very nice work on the pics and story.

  Nice painting, looks like great fun, and a "must play" if anyone is down that way.

(they, H & A,  made a mistake or two here and there, but nothing that would bother what looks like a great con game!
)

It was a very nice game, pitty I didn't get a chance to take some more pics myself

I did however get some pictures of the 40mm AWI game

A few hundred 40mm Sash and Sabre AWI mins graced a 5 x 12ft table, the figs were god tabletop standard and some lovely buildings graced the table, the Americans were painted by Ray Ashton and Peter Russett and the British by Andrew Bishop and Lon Teal, the buildings were from MBA and ATKM. They used the new Black powder rules which seemed to work well, enjoy the pics.
