Pressing on with encounter placards, the valiant hero's near the volcano, hmm need a lava field, and after some thought , decided not to include the lip of the volcano... that begs its own complete placard.
Again, cheap and fast is my approach on the lava field board. Scrap styrafoam, 65cent floor tile and a dollar or so of caulking.

"wonders how many adventurers will think if they run fast enough they wont sink in the red lava flow.."
Placard now painted and ready to move to the Volcano encounter Placard!

I am really liking how these are coming together. ...although roasting your styrofoam for the lava field may be a little too literal. *L* lol lol

Great!
You can also use the BBQ lighter to "cure" the cut edge of your foam mountains, rocky hills, etc. Just pass it over, and don't let it crater the surface like you did there, unless you want that lava type look.
That is how I fix all my styrofoam carvings. (and it hides the "beads" of the extruded bead foam)
