Title: While we're on the subject of Equatoria...
Post by: Plynkes on 28 January 2010, 11:03:13 AM
...which we were ( Click here if you don't believe me (http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=16006.0)), I just received a rather fortuitous email from Amazon. They want me to pre-order this:

Looks very interesting, unfortunately it will cost me about fifty(!) quid. Wait for the paperback, perhaps.

Seems they thought I might like it because I bought this off them:

... which I had completely forgotten that I had even read. But thinking back I do recall enjoying it. Slightly odd that a book about the lives of Sam and Valentine Baker, and Charles Gordon should choose to focus on Fred Burnaby for the cover picture. It is however a very cool picture, and I suppose that is the main thing.

So, the Russian oligarchs among us can enjoy the first book and then tell us if it was any good, while the rest of us peasants can in the meantime read the second.  :)

I just noticed it is Egypt's Africa Empire. Wouldn't Egypt's African Empire have been a better title? Odd that. Doesn't exactly inspire confidence that the author can write correct good English properwise.

Let's be kind enough, Maybe a type error?
