Sudan, 15mm (my first "cpmpleted" 15mm work)
Pretty standard, some are more detailed. My system enables me to change the color of the building quickly and easily, so that is why there are some different looks, as I determine what looks best. (I'll explain the trick of making quick color change structures in my soon to be released tutorial on Workbentch. )
Here are some, with an arial view of all the buildings in a loose square city block formation, out of expediency
Close ups of my favorites are coming as fast as I can load them on photobucket.
I am very happy with the small village so far:

The entire lot of the Sudan buildings project (well, two small villages and a British outpost are not in that pic)

I built this kinda tower, keep, or something . In an upcoming pis, you can see the second story floor, a wood textured fomica) :

The center of the ad hoc "city" formation (mostly placed in order from their storage boxes, then I just added those corner buildings with walls to make it a "desert City)

Two buildings, I add an inch or two of wall to some buildings, (with acces doorway). You can instantly turn a group of buildings into a fort, and some have two walls, to "corner off" two perpendicular rows) I try to have different entrance doorway styles (recessed etc.) some lookm good, others.....

the northeastern "corner' of buildings. You can see a corner piece building:

Thanks guys!
UPDATE: My Market center (two sides of stands seperated by a wall with walkways (I know, I need to add the details :))

My city entrance buildings. I wanted them to be alble to be used individually (just place wall next to adjoing building, and be able to serve as an entrance. A balsa gate fits in bettwen the walls via magnetics. The disparity in colors? That is an example of my quick change system.

Yes, I wanted to take advantage of 15mm, and have a large street fighting option (one of my freinds wants to game Ambush Alley on it, and LOL! the "Stalingrad with nicer weather and palm trees" theme is a big hit at RECON, a guy does it with a great Somalia city set up that is similar to this, only modern structures)
Mati, the colors came about for two reasons.
One, each batch seems to never come out the same color :?, and, the "big City" layout is just one option. It will break down into smaller villages and such, and I figured similar colored buildings would be a good way to remember combinations that look good together . That first pic is an wxample, I call it my "yellow" village. ;)
(my painting and finishing process allows me to change the color easily, without affecting the structure, ie, not just adding another coat of paint until it's texture becomes deformed. That was a neccesity, so I could get buildings built at differnt times to have similar adobe and brickwork.)
Some buildings have red brown exposed brickwork. LOL! I know, I should change that out to typical Sudanese mud brick and stone tones, but I like it. I'll change it before they are inspected by the critics at a convention or AE Curtis pics up on it :D
I'll get more individual buildings posted, as several were obviously inspired by some adobe buildings created here by our LAF artists.
I'll also post pics of my British/Egyptian outpost. It's a version of my old Zulu War Rorkes Drift style last stand game. Designed for about 4 units (of 5 infantry and a sergeant each, with at least two being Egyptian/Sudanese), with artillery, officers, surgeon, a few characters, and @ 10 units of attackers (@25 figs each) on movement trays. I just love Chris Feree's Rorkes Drift rules/scenario (it is very similar to the Matakishi Boxer Rebellion siege game, and That last outpost game on the Stand To sight.
It has my favorite magnet topped walls, sand bags and barricades, so figures can stay on top between turns (and get killed before setting foot inside the defense works, usually :D)
Thanks for all the inspiration. While I always love 28mm and doing superdetailed buildings and interiors, this 15mm stuff is FUN! The avarege size of the buildings here is 2" x2" and 1" to 1.25" tall!!

Really nice! Impressive to see so many, as well.

They are now undergoing final detail, and temporary shef storage, so I can undertake step 2, building terrain boards
BTW, any ideas or suggestions about the buildings is welcome. Do they pass muster, or need some additional work/accesories/details to make them more "Sudan" like? (a few have already been diverted to the "Boxer Rebellion futures box, and some I deemed "Too Old West looking", which is fine, they go in the "Mexican projects futures box)

That's an impressive collection. Must have taken you a while to get that lot together.
-
Kicked them out fairly quickly. (well the basic assembly, spackling and painting. the detailing took the longest.). 15mm is so small, I do five buildings while watching a college football game on the TV, on average. (I watch a lot of college football ;) )
UPDATE: A domed building (could be a mosque)
http://s213.photobucket.com/albums/cc152/gocanesba/?action=view¤t=domedbldgs.jpg
Some of My favorites. The "L" shaped building is my personal fav, but it looks a lot better from the other side, where the main entrance is. Don't know why I took it from this angle (the one on the left wokrded out well, just need to change that red brick, LOL!

Youd have to add a minaret to get a mosque.
Beside that, it's great work. How did you do the dome, is this a scaled down pigskin (i think it's called that ??? )?

It's a 1/1 scale plastic Easter Egg. :) I scribed brickwork on it (very tricky on a smooth, plastic, sphere, I was already resigned to prying the scriber out of bone) But it doesn't show up well. Need to apply another wash and drybrush.
According to several experts, there was no domes on Sudanese mosques. I will do a minuret.
It's weird, some of the buildings look big compared to the figures, yet they are only 20 scale feet wide, some 12 feet. When you build to fit figure on base inside, I guess it skews things a bit?
Interiors are a bit rough going. It's like you need almost as much floorspace as 28mm. :( The sci fi figs I used in the photos are on 5/8" wide bases. I'm going to try 1/2" bases on my Sudan figures., That should help greatly?
And yes, pigskin would be the term fro football. (Funny, It reminded me of a recentl fishin trip, and ran into a huge school of small blackfin tuna. They are called "Footballs" because they are the same size, and are shaped just like the pigskin.)
