So we've got the Rules, there's a small range of figures out.... what's in the pipeline? Where do Lon and Rich see this heading? C'mon tease us a bit... :D
-
Hmmmm... what can I tease you with...?
Ok, we have some more figures to finish for the main book. One of the mutant figures will be getting some brethren added. Rad Zombies have some more figures coming.
There is a figure that Paul is dying to sculpt that will probably be in the line up next for him. Of course, it will require a few others to be done with it. And the only hint I will give is that the group is usually the butt of many jokes (at least here in the US, though I am sure other countries have their own version of it).
And we'll need some downed enemy pilots, trying to fight their way out of the country (or take it over).
There are other things as well, but I don't want to give any more away at the moment. 8)

Not Morris dancing then... ;)
Er... Cheerleaders? Marching band? Um.. What do Americans find funny? Canadians? Mexicans? ;)

I thought you already had a set of bowlers???
-
*Presses Buzzer* Who are hillbillies/rednecks...
The rest sounds good though too :)
-
How about some 50’s Soviets and Grey aliens? ;D
-
I'd like some Soviets and/or Chinese eventually, but I'd prefer to see the stuff already out or planned expanded and completed first. I'd like to see some semi-military figures (mixture of kit and weapons - militia types in essence) along with more civilian types. I'd really like to see some proper late 50's early 60's regulars with M14's and the M60 too.
However I'm undecided as to whether too many soldiers will spoil the game's character though. Then you start to go down the road of having a Patton Tank, or an M75 APC... then M20 Bazookas... then the Martians turn up in their grav ships. :?

Sloth is awesome.
Someone did guess correctly. ;)
And yes, I want to expand on what is already out as well.
-
I am guessing Shriners w/ the little cars and hats... They were huge in the late 50's...
-
A Shriner car with a big ol' .50 on the side. That would be fun. lol
-
oh I can´t wait !! any pictures on some greens (you know I have to ask ::) )
Grimm
-
As its the late 50's how about a Sgt Bilko like character/figure. The great trickster ,con man gambler etc .
-

I will see if I can dig up one. I do know my next mold is on the way to me so the Minders and Bloaters will be released imminently.
(if anyone has current orders in and wants to add them just send me an email with your order number and I will do that. My guess is my shipment will arrive Friday so initial casting will be on the weekend if it does arrive before then. Paul is under a timeline on the first phase of a new project set to debut right before or at Cold Wars in early March. Once he is done with that he will be getting back to AC57 and WWI. Sadly enough I don't see a board in LA that covers the period of this new range on this board. >:D)

Do you have any pictures of the greens???

Well there wasn't a child board for AC57 before it came along... so anything is possible. ;) I'm sure the Prof will be able to find a home for it, whatever it might be. Of course it being February... now might be a good time to start to generate some hype... and of course put the terminally curious cats like myself out of our misery. :)

tell me more about your new range and we will see what can be done ;)
-
As for Atomic Cafe, you will need 2 more figures for your three stooges pack, why not do Sgt. Bilko as Dexter recommends and Pvt Doberman?
-

Since Lon has said he would show some greens, I'm going to post pictures of the Minders and Bloaters that Paul has done. I'm not sure if Lon plans on doing three bloaters and 2 Minders in a pack or splitting them up, but here you go.
The one bloater is a Kit Kat Girl. One is in the midst of exploding.
-
Awesome... :D
I too would be really happy to get a Bilko and Doberman... maybe even Cpls Barbello and Henshaw? Col. Hall? Perhaps they could be FDF characters?
-
Right you are, Jim Hale! I would like that better then the stooges.
-
I love the Moose horns... :-*
-

Maybe there could be some rule that increases scavenging for Bilko... extra ammo or fuel that he's scrounged, something in keeping with his character? This could be offset by his reluctance to actually fight.. there are a few possibilities that could be explored. :)
-
Love the minder! Damn and I'd just recieved my last order :(
-
Ha Ha ! I order them :D

They look really nice. I will definitely be keeping an eye out for those guys.

Sorry if this spounds like a stupid question but whats a Kit Kat girl? I know hwat a Kit Kat (chocolate bar) is and I know what a girl is but I am afraid that I am missing some peachy keen 50's reference.
Am I?

The Kit Kat Girls are the AC57 equivalent of Hugh Hefner's Bunny Girls

I think this set was inspired by my answer to Lon’s post on the Brigade Games Forum when he ask people to guess who a figure was supposed to represent... (it was the "not Nixon" figure) lol

High School Science/Chess club nerds. Cheerleaders & Scots, to off set the greasers. Maybe 50s era bikers, leather jackets & motor caps, like Marlon Brando. The Rat Pack, Franky, Deano, Sammy, & Joey & a few Vagas show girls. Mad Scientists, there are never enough mad scientists.

The gang from Grease.

You mean like these from Brigade in their AC57 range?

::)
-
Yeah I guess I missed those.
-
You could've done a quick edit and said 'more roller derby girls'. ;)

How about doing up some scenarios? Like get Nixon (or gang) to the chopper to evacuate him/them from the cityfull of Zombies!!! Maybe other gangs try to prevent them from escaping!!! May be they try to blow up the chopper!!! Race to the fuel Depot Road Warrior style in Hopped up Hot Rods!!! Mutant hunters. Try to hunt down and eliminate all mutants!!! Stir up any ideas???
Laterz Wurmz,

A Very British Atomic Cafe?
-
How about some weapons sprues? Like you did with Nixons Security Detail... hands with weapons are seperate... maybe add some with Molotov cocktails, lead pipe, frying pan, more guns, sling shots, bats, severed arm or leg for zombies, alien ray gun etc. etc. just some thoughts!!!
Laterz Wurmz,
dA mAD cHoPpA
p.s.
Are there any rules or stats for giant ants and the Praying Mantis or Giant Tremor looking Worm???

Why don't you write up some of those scenarios, then post them here for feedback? You seem to have a lot of good ideas, so just make them happen - if some of them turns out really nice, you might actually see some of them in print - both Operator5 and Lon from Brigade are VERY interested in fan support and ideas.

Anyone planning to run an AC57 game at Fall-In this Halloween?

So what would be iconic and fun for a late '50s post-apocalyptic Britain?
-
So what would be iconic and fun for a late '50s post-apocalyptic Britain?
In science-fiction terms, it's the decade of John Wyndham (Day of the Triffids, The Kraken Wakes, The Chrysalids) and Nigel Kneale (the Quatermass serials, the BBC adaptation of Nineteen Eighty-Four).
In the movies, you're getting the first Hammer horrors, the Ealing comedies, Dirk Bogarde and Diana Dors, the first St Trinian's films (hoos creeaytur, ronald sirl, is also sending Nigel Molesworth to St Custards, chizz, chizz), and those peaks of intelligent, thoughtful cinematic SF, The Trollenberg Terror and Devil Girl from Mars.
On the radio, there's Dick Barton, Special Agent and Journey into Space. The Archers is spreading agricultural knowledge like muck. Above all, there is the Goon Show.
In pop culture, you've got the Teddy Boys, while Trad Jazz is squaring off against the first "modernists" (Mods, as they became known).
Lots of good source material there. Neddy Seagoon, Bluebottle, Eccles, Major Bloodnok and Min would be a good start!
Edit: I forgot to mention comics. This is the decade of The Eagle and Dan Dare, Pilot of the Future - not actually post-apocalyptic, but Dan's first mission to Venus was motivated by food shortages.
And perhaps post-apocalyptic Britain should be teeming with the feral children of the baby boom - this is when The Beano was selling more than a million copies a week on the back of newly-introduced characters Dennis the Menace, Minnie the Minx and The Bash Street Kids.
Remember: Remain Indoors and Don't Think About The Event.
Blessed be the Regulations!
-
Excellent summary Steve, to which I'll add the 'Angry Young Men' of popular literature and the 'Six-Five Special' TV show.
-
Canadians?
:'( ;)
I think he means rednecks, personally.
