I have been interested in picked up "Geezers, Shut It!" for quite some time but was then even more intrigued when I saw that Killer B Games were releasing rules for an American setting called Mean Streets.
I'm curious how well this will mimic the characters and feelings of the 1970s. Also will Killer B be releasing a seperate set of figures for this game? Will we get minis of not-Shaft or everyones favorite vigilante not-Paul Kersey? I don't know about you guys but this would be a huge selling point for me.

There is a collection of not Dirty Harry, not Starsky and not Hutch etc. in their figure range.

Obelisk make 70's detectives too (and a pair of eighties ones), Copplestone makes Shaft and Coffee/Jackie Brown.

Khurasan make Harry and Scorpio

Reaper and Rafm have a couple of Harlem Heroes as well.

Thanks for the responses guys.

There's a company (I'll try to find the link) that makes the funkiest, baddest cats around for 70's play. I think the line is called "Funkytown", and it is a 28mm car chase and street fight game, ala Starskey and Hutch, Dirty Harry, Blaxploitation/Richard Roundtree style fun.
Really cool figs. Peacock feather hats, alligator shoes, leopard print coats with fur, and afros!

I found my long lost rules set! :D
LOL! I take down a box of terrain materials, and my long lost Osprey Zulu Wars books (all of them) were in it, and inside the Rorkes Drift book, out falls my funkytown rules and charts.
The rules are "Crushing!" Cars, Guns, Funk.
The miniatures are available on there Yahoo Group ("fUNKYTOWN" is the name of the set, "Crushing" the name of the site. They are bad. You can almost hear Isaac Hayes when you look at them.)
Go to their Yahoo Group.

"Fonk you!" Groovy. 8)
Looks like the Yahoo! Group (http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/CRUSHING_Gamers/ (http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/CRUSHING_Gamers/)) has been silent for almost four years. [Edit: My mistake - the group is apparently not silent; Yahoo! just decided not to show me the most recent messages.] They used to have a dedicated Web site for the game, but that must be long-since gone. It's too bad, because I love the lighthearted nature of the game, and the site reflected it very well. The group doesn't do the character of the game any justice. [Edit: The author's site - http://starkidz.free.fr/mainpage.htm (http://starkidz.free.fr/mainpage.htm) - has some of the original site's content in its "Games" ("Jeux") section.]
The game itself is primarily a set of vehicle rules, although it looks like there are pedestrian rules posted to the group. They had some game-specific greens, but I don't know if they ever made it into production. (These reminded me a lot - stylistically - of the "Homies" toy figures.)

is the funkytown available free from the yahoo group?

The minis are up and running. (or they were)
Yeah, those jive turkeys on that yahoo group were not cool enough to do the game justice!
The game mechanics are good. I was going to incorporate them into my Zombie house rules, but never got around to it.
I love that Mechwarrior style car sheet for checking off damage and engine problems. lol
I'm "in" if anyone wants to start gaming it again.
