Don't think I have seen RGM78 before -it is very nice :-* :-*
What happened to 76 & 77?
I presume the 'nef is in dry dock being repaired after being downed so often ;D ;D

You're so going to get your arse kicked next time ;D
The 76 and 77 were factory failiures (I couldn't be bothered to build them)
I'm hoping someone gets the reference ;)

Anything to do with that damn gun? :)

Nope, keep guessing.

Anything to do with the amusingly atrocious Airport films?
Lovely stuff Jimbib, I haven't met the RGM yet.
-
So its not the gun, damn!!

Oops.. lol
That officer LT Col. Norimaki is currently number one on the most wanted men in Britain poster after his senseless attack on the RGS survey team. ;)
They look even better in the flesh, a wonderful collection. :)

Wrong :D If you get it it'll give you an idea on whats planned next :D
cheers

Very nice, there's gonna be a few more on Atlantis soon.

Great looking stuff Jim!
-
Beautiful. Is the samurai mecha-armor a scratchbuild? It looks great.
-
Thanks chaps :)
It's a conversion from a Eureka one. I just added some armour plates, the katana and a suitable looking head from the Perry samurai range.
cheers

Nice army!
Love the mounted Samurai dudes and the tanks came out splendidly!
-
Beautiful stuff, Jimbibbly...and unless I am incorrect, you are referencing the GUndam animes with your numbering system...I KNOW that RGM-79 was one of the Gundams...this one, in fact...

Lovely, I'd love to see a Japanese tank which the armour reflects the Samurai style more.
Not like Gundam and all that though. Think traditional. :)
I really like the concepts, love the Infantrymen.

Lovely stuff James :-* :-* :-*
Shame we are not going too see these in a couple of weeks :'(
Have you posted a WIP thread before on the walkers?

And we have a winner. But don't worry, there are some rather more traditional looking Gundam out there (the SD ones spring to mind) so armour will be of the laquar and lace type :D
Being the dozy bugger I am, I didn't take any wip photos, but I will be with the secret project ;)

Try re-reading my guesses ;)
-
Nice work James.
I would consider it an honour for my Japanese army to fight alongside yours. Maybe some time later this year we should organise a big grudge match between the British (Malamute, Thunderchief (or the other forum member from Shropshire) and whatever help they can find) and the Japanese (the combined armies of you, Mors and myself) ;)

Ha ha ha, brilliant :D

Beautiful stuff, Jim.
Can I ask what you used to build those lovely tanks?

Great concept James.
Have you looked at Urban Mammoth Triad as base figures?
They have a couple of Shogun battlesuits (http://www.urbanmammoth.co.uk/acatalog/info_13408.html) including one with a Naginata (http://www.urbanmammoth.co.uk/acatalog/info_13407.html)and even a small Rocket launcher (http://www.urbanmammoth.co.uk/acatalog/info_13419.html).
Too pulp/sci-fi? ???
-
Oh, that is so beautifully done - and I love both the Gundam and Ghost in the Shell nods by the steam walkers.
-
Try re-reading my guesses ;)
I did, and you had it. I love the hidden pun, Svennn.
-
Anything to do with that damn gun? :)
DOH!!!!! ;D
I've seen the urban mammoth suits and they are a bit too sci-fi but I quite like the rocket launcher. If anyone has seen 'Kishin Haiden' they will know what I'm planning next ;)
They are made from chemiwood (which is a machinable resin compound), acrylic and a few bits and bobs.
cheers

Fighting talk eh?

OMG! Featureless aliens with PPSH's molded into their forearms?!? A transforming cuddly amphibious giant robot (à la Kishin Dragon)? The Kanto Army Prototype?!? A "Panzer Knight" size samurai mech?!?
(I seriously hope, though, that you refrain from doing a Hans Rienger figure. I cannot really see how he'd fit in a VSF setting, and while his bionic arm in the last episode was more than nifty, after all those years I cannot get over that mane of hair of his'.)
Cannot wait to see the things to come. I had actually planned to do some with those new 1930s Pulp Japanese seen elsewhere, but you've obviously outpaced me (I actually did a model of Kishin Dragon some ten years ago, but it fell foul of a too-vigorous dusting attempt and I somehow never got it back together again). I still want to do a proper Panzer Knight for my 3W2 stuff sometime (with Wagnerian helmet and cloak, and that missile launcher... I guess I'd replace that swastika, though). Man, now you've got me thinking.
-
Nope, no naff plotless aliens :D Just some BIG steam mechs (with a possible train to carry them on ;) ;) )
Glad someone else has seen it ;D
cheers

Even though I generally prefer MS Gundam (I really, really like the Igloo serials) for "plausibility" (yeah yeah I know), Kishin Heidan must by my absolute favourite mechabash series when it comes to style and design (not necessarily of all the characters, though). It may be some family conditioning (my grandfather, a radio engineer, invented the hexode tube and the single-ended tube), but I was totally enamoured by the tube racks used to start the Kishins.
I got the series on UK VHS back in early 1997, and they are pretty much the reason I kept my VCR for so long. I really hope they'll do a proper DVD edition (preferably with subtitled Japanese language track as an option) once.

Yeah, Ive been keeping a loose eye out for it ever now and then. The last time I saw it was about 13-14 years ago. There's not a lot on the net either :(

Nice looking army you have there, especially the mounted samurai - very colourful.
