Title: Lookee what I found...
Post by: Bako on 17 February 2010, 09:18:31 AM
Well, hopefully no one's already gone an' trumped me with this, but look at what I found through random coincidence:

That's gotta be at least a foot tall judging by my "spidey-senses."

Whatever. It's too late to be putting more effort into this post anyhoo. Need tea or something...

14" tall, 22" wingspan - if the specs I've seen are correct. It's a limited edition that's made (or was - it's been around for a while, so I'm not sure if it's OOP or not) by SOTA Toys - and runs for $250 US, if you're able to find it. (I have their older "standard" issue Cthulhu - it's nowhere near as tall, unfortunately, but a better sculpt IMHO.)

Found one here, as a matter of fact:

Yeah - at least 2d10 base SAN loss for sticker shock. Lose another 1d10 if you make your Idea roll to see if you come to the realization that you'll probably never own one of these.

While we're on the topic of SOTA Toys' Lovecraftian horrors, I thought I'd post a few of their other creations (for those who are unaware of their existence):

Dagon (this one sold out fast-fast-fast - I was prepped for their release and still missed getting one  :'( ):

"Standard" Cthulhu (have one - love the sculpt, just wish it was a bit bigger):

"Standard" Cthulhu - Black Variant:

Nyarlathotep  :o :

Nyarlathotep - Black Variant  :o :o :

Check out their prices/availability and despair!

(Edit: I didn't post a photo of SOTA Toys' Ghoul figurine here because it's far too tall to work for scale gaming - unless you plan on unleashing a giant ghoul god on your victims - er, I mean opponents.)

Had the SOTA cthulhu but sold it onto White Knight, nice figure but too big for me to get out of the collectable box as it were and it just took up space, muttering and leaking everywhere.

;)
