Wow, that terrain piece and the harpies are amazing! :o I hope to see more close-up detail pictures once it's allowed!

When those harpies let loose with the guano, they really let loose.

Looking at it now I think I may have overdone it. Photo and RL are *never* the same thing. Other than that I think the crag came out well. It was put together and painted in just a couple of hours thanks to a few tips from posts on Workbench, esp. Vikotnik's tip to blast the XPS with a torch (very carefully, mind!)

Great scene and lovely harpies ! Walking the dog out might be dangerous, be careful ! ::)

That guano is bananas! lol
...
Okay, poor joke, but it's still an absolutely stunning piece. Just keep it weeeell out of reach of Fiver's hands, I say.

He is scared of them. He is more into my NWF stuff, esp the Sikh bugler Helen sent me. I don't blame him about the harpy-phobia, they sculpting is quite intimidating. Flying female sexual predators are the stuff of nightmares to any man, I suppose. Except to Jim Hale, perhaps, who I suspect subscribe to magazines in discrete covers ... ;) Rule 34 again, you know...

were are the harpies minis from?

Gamezone. Spanish company. They have a remarkable catalogue aiming at Warhammer gamers. I don't play Warhammer but I have purchased the occasional miniatures just because they are so original and have so much cool detail.

The warband is really cool, and reminds me of the old Realm Of Chaos books, but the harpies won my vote in the end.

Thanks! It was created using the random mutations and powers in those Realm of Chaos . The Skaven has a 'giant head', the troll has a beak and claws, and the Chaos Spawn had extra joints, horns, extra heads, a snake head and tail, and 'centaurid' mutations. I'm pretty sure that the Lizardmen didn't have any mutations, but it's been a long time, I don't really remember.
There is a champion for the warband, but he was always getting new mutations, armor, and equipment, so he was never fully painted - every week I was adding or removing bits!
